I'm all-electric and my consumption jumped about $75. more than average. However, that is due to a combination of:

- Very cold weather.
- The addition of my daughter, her husband, and two kids temporarily living with us. (Four more showers and a lot of clothes dryer operation)
- Not having power for 4.5 days offset some of the higher usage.

My gas bill was from 1/21 - 2/23 and it was $59, we usually average about $35 in the winter months.

My current electric bill is from 2/11-3/11, the usage is for sure low, so I won't know until another 8 days. I don't expect it to be above $75.

And I complain when mine is above $150. In the summer both of my houses wouldn't equal your January bill.

Not sure of this month's bill. It should close in a day or two, but right now, the usage looks to be less than January.

My electric was $20 higher than same time last year, and includes this cold-snap,
but we used up 60gal of propane (@1.85/gal) = $111 in propane and $6 in gasoline (generator).

Normally only use 10gal of propane/mo in winter months (since I have heat-pump as primary/dual-fuel),
but at least I can wait till summer to fill the propane tank again (when rates are much cheaper).

Electric rate calculates to 8.85cents / kwh - and I'm on co-op - still cheaper than I can generate it myself!

Only electric.. I have not seen the gas bill yet. We have a gas fireplace and kept it going
almost 24/7. I understand that the cost of running a gas fireplace is about .40 an hour.
So we will see.

Our bill went from $400ish to over $900, we have electric heaters in the greenhouse that I’ve always just shrugged off paying a couple hundred extra a month during the winter but I’ll dang sure be running a gas line out their this year and putting in a different heater.

Combo electric and gas I was $415 in January and $610 in February, most of both attributable to pool runtime in the winter. I expect that this will go down for March-May then rise back up with the heat

Mine was $125. I dont know how it compares to last year, but the highest electric bill Ive ever had in our house was under 200 and it was during the winter as our non heat pump electric heat burns more juice than the A/C.

It was stupid cold in my area. I was trying to keep my pipes from busting. I even cut three holes in sheetrock inside my house to keep from having a flood from pipes freezing, those were 2 hose bibs and one line for my fridge.

My house stays cold which is good in Texas, but bad for a record cold snap. I have 20 to 25 feet ceiling in most of my living spaces.

I was running 4 bathrooms full time with water, I even took my Washing machine line and cut it in half and let the hot/cold run down the drain for 6 days. I have 2 Gas Water heaters in the 2nd story attic that were burning on high. I even went to my double check for my irrigation system in the yard and put an electric blanket around it to keep it from freezing and busting.

I let my water run for 6 days in row, Keep 2 gas fireplaces on high for 6 days in a row, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. It's better than busted pipes and a flooded house.

I used 2500 KWH versus 1700 prior month but prior month was short 2 days. I hate it when they do that and I end up with either no charge or 2 charges on Visa statement. 2hp pool pump running on high speed for almost 2 weeks did not help. Electricity is not the most efficient way to heat a house but at least I don't have to worry about CO or blowing up.
