If the same 2 guys are approximately the same size...
Not a D1 lineman vs a 145 pound dude, size within reason
The mma, bjj guy will win 90 plus percent of this matches is my bet
I don’t expect the mma, bjj guy to be a better football player why should anyone expect the football player to win the fight

For any doubters...
Go to YouTube
Check out Royce Gracie vs all those meat heads back in the early days of UFC
That’s what made bjj take off
This whole argument was basically settled 30 years ago lol

The end of the video that guy in the blue jacket won’t be seeing for a while, his face was getting HAMMERED I saw a report that he had eye surgery yesterday. The guy that needed the eye surgery (Spencer) was actually the other guy not the guy being pounded at the end of video. There will be charges filed because the mma fighter assaulted the wrong guy. He started punching a guy that didn’t push him. Yes, he was talking chit. Spencer’s friend actually pushed him ( the guy in the blue jacket getting pounded at the end) It’s a shame no one attempted to break the fight up. Just watched and recorded. Again the guy already had a bloody nose you can clearly see it in the video so he had already been assaulted. We don’t know what happened before the video began, but someone had already hit him. Don’t know who it was. Again, charges will be filed. Self defense is out because is was not an imminent threat. You can’t assault someone for something that happened 5 minutes ago, then claim self-defense. I highly doubt the guy he started throwing blows on was the one that caused his nose bleed or assaulted him earlier.

Agree 100x with this.. If you are talking “average” skilled MMA/BJJ I’d say it's a much much lower percentage and probably a coin toss. The average would go up with actual experience.

I’ll argue it however you want Give me your baddest D1 lineman vs Jon Jones Give me your pretty good D1 lineman vs a pretty good mma, bjj guy I can find in DFW I’ll win em both.

A juiced up Jon Jones or non-steroid enhanced Jon Jones vs a non-juiced D1 lineman?

Funny how we go from two brothers trained by the father vs a reserve Sooner WR and friend only to begin talking about Royce Gracie and Jon Jones. Why don' we compare bars of gold against stream of piss?
Earth to anyone and for primarily something the Clown espoused - mental fortitude, the average football player will end up destroying the average non-football player.

Ex college football players are worse than anyone on how badass they are...just ask em. Vast majority of the ex’s are on a severe down grade physically and all their injuries they took and that their body over compensated for are popping up. With that said I’d still say most have a much high level of resiliency and mental fortitude over the average Joe including average jiu-jitsu/mma training joes, with that said I think any one that's been through military basic training has a similar degree Of resiliency/fortitude. My 2cents. Probably true for the guys that actually played alot. Probably a stretch for the "tough" guys that rode the bench 99% of the time but still thought they were badasses.

I think some of ya'll need to go to your local Club, Dojo, or gym and get on the mats. And I don't mean just the ones that are saying your average D1 football player can whoop a trained MMA fighter. I am talking to the ones that say your average joe that trains mma can take on anyone...size and athleticism be damned. And to the ones that have been in a few street or bar fights and decided they are studs that could whoop mma and D1 football players. I believe that the mats will humble people from each of the groups mentioned and many in between.
A minor point that I will make is that you can take a below average person and make them a trained fighter through MMA, but that doesn't make them much more than above average as a fighter. You cannot take an average person and make them a D1 football player. There has to be something more to them, being that they were typically above average before ever getting close to college. Add the rigorous training programs within a D1 program and they become well above average. Add any fighting experience, not trained, and they are well above average.
