SFP with a ranging reticle is an automatic NO for me. It's useless unless used at max power, unless you want to do a lot of math.

x2. It matters not how good the scope is. This feature makes it a no go for me. That said, I have heard that Trijicon scopes are good.

I’d have zero concerns about a SFP scope on 10 power max scope. If I need holdovers i will crank it to 10x which has plenty FOV at distance.

Trijicon is a great optic. I have 3 of their Accupowers.

They are all made in Japan.

I have two Accupoint scopes and am very happy with them. Also made in Japan.

Far better than China. Is Leopold the only one worthy made in America?

WHERE ARE BURRIS SCOPES MADE?
Well, the Philippines produce the parts and assemble most of the optics, but a few are still assembled in the United States.

Burris does not boast on their home page about being made in the USA. https://www.burrisoptics.com

Leupold also has lenses and such that come out of China and Japan. Most US manufacturers are using foreign made lenses, even if the rest of the scope is made in the US.

They are great and I am more than willing to do the math. I will get on my high horse and say this level of math should not be that difficult. Off now.

I'm a huge trijicon fanboy. From my friend's acog and vcog to my accupoints and accupowers. Even have an mro. Said it several times here, my 2.5-10x56 trijicon accupower is what proved to me 10x is very doable out to 600 yards and more. While it ain't ffp, this accupower is mil dot reticle with mil turrets.

They now make ffp, which I do love with a mil based reticle.

I had 2 Trijicon scopes, a Tenmile on PRS rifle and on my Bolt-Hunting gun a Accupoint 2.5-12 Mil-Dot.
They both made in Japan and that is what makes them so precise. Can‘t beat Japanese accuracy for the most part.

The accupoint is outstanding in low light, I think there is a Video on YT with direct comparison to a Leupold and others. It‘s like someone turns the light on when you look through the Trijicon.

If you want 100% US Product - you must use Iron Sights.

There are only a handful of companies that make glass that can be used for scopes. Japan, China, Germany, Korea and that is pretty much it. 80% of all glass used for optics is coming from Zeiss, they just own a ton of companies (for example Schott). Trijicon and Nightforce use Kyocera as far as I know.

The real important question is, who is doing the finish on the glass. You can buy glass in China but do the fit in finish in house and it will be High End Product, you can buy the glass in Germany and let the Chinese do the final touch and you have a budget scope.

Nevertheless, you can‘t go wrong with Trijicon - I promise.

My trijicon accupoint has been a good scope for the past 8 years on several different rifles. It is my cheapest scope now and is on my muzzleloader.. The glass is decent and always holds zero. No complaints.

I WILL NOT COMPLY!!I lost all of my guns in a boating accident and I have a medical condition so I cant wear a mask!!!

I have a couple Leupolds you could look through, and a Burris Signature HD that I'm pretty happy with. For the range, or hunting?

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I am a huge fan of Accupoint scopes. I personally run one on my main deer rifle (5-20x), Wife has a 3-9 on her lightweight rifle, and we have a 2-10x on the Sig 716 rifle. All are great performers, great light gatherers, great aimpoint in low light, never a problem in years of service.

I learned on SFP mildot scopes, so that's not an issue for me, or us. Also, even if someone says "lots of math" etc, 95a% or more of shots hunters take are at max magnification anyway, or the aiming power. Also once you get basics down, it's not hard to chart for different mags if you need to rather than do the math in the field. There are great shooters that used SFP scopes for decades. I have one FFP scope of my own, and it's slightly more convenient, but not alarmingly.

I sometimes keep them in stock. Either way, you are welcome to come see ours and observe with them vs Burris or Leupold or others.

SFP is not a bad thing and to me is preferable for a hunting rifle. Depending on how busy the reticle is, aiming at a target using a FFP scope at low power can be challenging if you need to do it quickly.

The Accupoint 3-9x40 with green dot crosshair reticle is my GO TO scope for hunting, I've got several and have had 0 issues with any of them. Personally I'm a huge SFP fan and hate the thin reticle a FFP has. Just decide what magnification you want to use for longer shots and learn your holdovers.

The Japan mfg Bushnell and Philippine mfg Burris are GTG, but all of the new production Bushnell and Burris scopes I've seen are all mfg in China so personally I'm not interested. I'm doing my best to not buy ANYTHING mfg in China!!!

I recently bought a Philippine mfg Sig and a Japan mfg GPO (both illuminated) and they both seem to be top quality and good value for the money.
