Normal occurrence across over half the country turn texas into an apocalypse wasteland. Cities running out of water, electricity issues across vast swaths of the state, grocery stores are barren...

You guys do realize the whole northern third of the country lives winter below freezing, the whole winter, and they dont deal with this kind of mess.

Anyone feel like texit is a legit opportunity now?

It's kinda like the threads on here with people bragging about how long they could survive in a SHTF situation but now with 2 days of cold weather you'd think it was The Day after Tomorrow taking place in real life from all the posts.

If windmills weren't producing 30% of the power we probably wouldn't be having these blackouts due to them being froze up.

It’s a normal occurrence in Texas for it to be 105+ degrees in the summer. Northern cities and California can’t handle the heat. What’s your point?

Grocery stores dont go barren and electricty doesn’t go out over cast swaths due to heat. California may have rolling brown outs in some areas due to heat but what we are seeing is a flaw in the texas power grid. This isnt rolling black outs, its people losing their homes due to frozen pipes.

Just pointing out the reality of what texit would look like when the us cut ties with texas after it suceded.

As much as i would love to see it, i just don’t see how it is a real possibility given the small hiccup mother nature just threw at us.

And btw, northern cities can handle 105....California cant because of liberal energy policies. I habe lived in yankee territory in 105+ and never experienced a brown out.

I always wonder why narcissistic Yankees wind up down here in the first place.

It's fun to think about, and IMO TX would fare extremely well. We would own the NA crude oil market, refining, petrochemical, and what we didn't have/grow natively here we would trade crude for it. We would be the Saudi Arabia of North America. He who owns the crude makes the rules. I'd like to bring Louisiana and Oklahoma with us.

Welfare recipients would take a pee test, and work in some capacity unless they were really disabled. Pick up trash, pull weeds, etc. Cut food stamps as well, and most of the "takers" would head for greener pastures like Cali and other socialist States. Christianity would be honored, back in schools, and once again if you dont like it you can move. No marital status for queers and homos either. That's just a start. Oh yeah......I'm for public executions, swiftly.

Narcissistic yankees serve in the military in texas and stay...but what would i know about that, i am not a narcissist.

Having said all that, my points were valid, as are yours, even without the name calling.

Texit should have occurred at the latest 1979. We missed our window.

It’s kind of silly to act like having some issues with weather we get once in a generation is some sort of big sign or revelation about anything. You think we should bury all our water lines 8 feet and invest in snowplows across the state now? Let Ohio go 100 days over 100 degrees and see how they fare.

Now you guys are really cracking me up...taking things a little too personal aren’t we?

Ohio Has experienced many episodes of 5+ days above 100 and 5+ days below zero. Nothing big happened, just something that happens about every year.... Why ohio has anything to do with this convo is confusing me tho....i dodnt know this was a discussion on the merits of a texit vs an ohexit?

Say what you want but it is funny seeing a thread about how Texas should secede followed a month later by a page full of threads complaining about Texas infrastructure

The dichotomy of THFers.

- patriotic to the USA
- wants to secede from the USA
