In California. https://sd11.senate.ca.gov/news/202...ection-act-ban-sport-hunting-black-bearsBet it passes, just as the non scientific ballot approach approved Wolf introduction in CO. we got to stick together on predator hunting. The liberal agenda is clear, protect Apex predator populations driving down substantiality of hunting. Remove habitat by non consumptive recreation and it concentrates ungulates making predation even more efficient, thus increasing predator recruitment, thus removing sustainable human use.... there is always a reason Something to think about, and pounder... NM banned coyote calling contests on state land, AZ had a proposed Mountain lion hunting ban. Texas is blessed as we don’t have ballot biology but never say never

That chode's district is literally the city of San Francisco. Lotta bear hunting in SF? What a moron. Glad he's trying to tackle the really necessary problems affecting his district.

They already banned mountain lion hunting in CA, years ago.
The radical Left loves protections for large predators. They hope it causes untold human conflicts.

Texas is blessed as we don’t have ballot biology but never say never Part of the reason I pulled the trigger on doing a lion hunt in 2019. I’m damn near positive that lion hunting will be illegal in more places in my lifetime. Sounds like bear hunting could be down the same path.

If you read the bear ban bill with an open mind and examine their reasoning, it seems they need to take more bears, not less. They stated that 1,700 can be killed each year and that bear/human conflicts have seen an uptick in recent years. Well a really good way (NOT) to stop the uptick is to stop hunting and keep adding nearly 2000 a year to the population. They don't seem to understand that an over crowded wilderness area will drive the excess population of bears to expand their range looking for food, right into the human populated areas. To me it sounds like they have a thriving bear population if they can harvest 1,700 a year and sustain that year after year.

They are already headed same way with bears. Also remember that harvest is with out hounds. They took away the most effective and targeted ways of hunting them and that’s hounds. So if you are hitting caps with least effective hunting way, you know you have way more bears then thought. It’s a trickle down, it’s just scary so many states manage wildlife by voting instead of actual science

it’s just scary so many states manage wildlife by voting instead of actual science Based upon the last 9 months of managing population via science...that scares the hell out of me too

Texas is blessed as we don’t have ballot biology but never say never While this may be true, we don't require TPWD to manage our wildlife based on biology. If we did, we wouldn't have seen the changes we have in the last few years regarding alligator gar. If you can make good friends with the commissioner (or line his pockets), he will happily ignore science when making regulations. I would love to see a requirement to base changes on scientific data but I don't see TPWD taking away his power anytime soon.

I believe the gray wolf in California is prohibited to hunt, yes you are right! He is not talking about the one wolf pack in Cali, grey wolves where delisted last year after recommendation by USFW after greatly exceeding the recovery criteria set forth by USFW. There are current lawsuits by the animals rights activists to reclassified wolves as endangered to prevent hunting and or state management. We are talking about states where they currently exceed breeding pair objective by 10x

Happening in a state with a bear on it’s flag. A bear that was intentionally hunted to extinction.

Political Science and not real science is running and ruining the USA. Indeed! Tell that to all the anti-vaxxers and the covidiots... What a shock...you’re from Austin! LMAO! Tell me something: If the masks work, then why all the ridiculous restrictions and closures? If they dont work, why are we forced to wear them? The fact they really just want a face covering and not even something that will stop a booger when one sneezes is ridiculous) How come you’re supposed to have a mask on from the front door to your table...but can take the mask off once seated? Is there a Kung Flu barrier around the table that is virus free once you sit down? What is the point of curfews in Kalifornia starting at 10pm? Is that when the virus is out and looking for its prey? How come liberal city governors are cracking down on their citizens about wearing masks, not traveling, and not having gatherings...yet they are caught multiple times...you guessed it, not wearing a mask, traveling and having large gatherings! I could go on for days about how none of it makes sense except to all the sheeple such as yourself. Pathetic! Now where were we...oh Demonrat politicians making laws and rules before understanding the cause and effect of such laws.
There's nothing better than killin it and grillin it!

I'd say maybe the world will get lucky and the bear population will get a lot bigger around the Napa area. I'd like to see one of those bears take a good bite out of Pelosi's butt.....but I think the bears would probably be turned off at having to bite such a weird thing....
