Actually that is an honest and the best answer. To add, the best days of the season to hunt that lake is not just during the first freezeout north of the red, but also combined with the nastiest, coldest, wettest, windiest weeks of the season as that is when the hunting pressure is the least.

I say given that the actual event does not meet our standards, we should follow the example of those that like to re-write things.
Meaning, in January, pour all the dam corn you want on the area you're hunting. And given shells are now hard to find. Use lead.
And no dam limits.

Last time i ask for honest advice on this board, bunch of clowns here. You're going to get the same response on any waterfowl forum on the internet - this one is probably the softest/nicest of them all. People are super secretive because there are very limited public waterfowl hunting opportunities in N Texas - and really the state as a whole. A lake may be 50,000 acres - but in reality there are only a couple hundred acres of legal/viable/huntable/productive waterfowl habitat. People spend hundreds of dollars + time scouting and learning lakes. People don't like to willy nilly give out information that they have personally invested in. With that said - you're a newbie - there are no "best" months - the weather above Texas is the biggest factor. Migratory birds can be here today and gone tomorrow - which is common on public lakes in Texas because they are not managed to be great waterfowl habitat. The best day to kill ducks in Texas is any day you decide to go hunting.

He has been a member for 15 years, and not the first time he asked about Ray Roberts and got same type of responses. He can't possible be surprised.

So let's keep it going then. Being the only member accused of region naming, I'm not above piling on.

I dont think naming a lake and asking what month is best is crossing the line, Wow! Well now you know! It’s about like asking someone if you can _ _ _ _ their sister.

Greenhorn for duck hunting, been a few times and hunt around lake Ray Roberts. Typically, what is better month usually, Nov, Dec, or Jan? pm Guy, Judd, Mohunter and Ducknbass. Their boat ramp hobos and hunting whores on that lake. Their phone favorite places light up like a Christmas tree when viewing that lake. When everyone at the ramp is bitchin about no birds these doods pull up with full straps.

Better to ask forgiveness than permission my best friend told me to stay away from his sister, she was beutiful and one of the sweetest person I ever met. Since I'm an a-- hole it probably wouldn't have lasted anyway

BTW to the OP, this is refered to as internet scouting, so don't be butt hurt with the responses. Hunting public is tuff and if you want to know a good public place to hunt , burn some shoe leather and get out there and look for yourself.
