That’s him. He made a nice little bird dog but he had too many issues. Can’t say I miss him.

My Cookie dog was by Honkey Tonk Attitude out of the winningest female of any breed in NSTRA. She was a two time champion and a GCT champion. Here she is pointing a training quail while I netted it.

I like any color dog now that we have GPS. My first non Pointer dog was a Shorthair that was heavily ticked back in the mid 80’s. She was almost impossible to see in the Sandhills. My first French Britt in the 90’s was almost all black but was ok when I finally got a beeper. I still like a white dog, but it’s not near as important as it used to be.
Technology has improved everything except the amount of bird we have to hunt. I still remember the first time I saw a shock collar. I thought that was the greatest invention ever made for bird dogs. I didn’t think I’d ever be able to afford one when I was a kid. It’s a lot more humane the way we train our dogs because of them, and GPS takes the worry out of everything. I still like to see my dogs work and will never buy into the, “Let ‘em roll” way of hunting. I like hunting bird, not dogs.

This is bigger deal than most realize.

I guess you can always hunt pen raised birds but it's just not the same.

He’s just dirty. He is getting more color but will be mostly white.

She's beautiful. Looks as if she frozen in mid stride.

Wingshooting on the weekend with my sons and a friend. Here is my friend's GSP bitch "Ariadne" on point. She is amazing.

Also a pic of the morning's bag. All pointed and retrieved. These are Swainson's spurfowl.

My sons (11 and 9 years old) each had their first shot with a shotgun (20ga). And they each bagged a dove but not on the wing. The doves were sitting in a tree. You got to start somewhere.
