As said score doesn’t matter, would need to see pics on the hoof to age but I’ll guess 3.5 depending where you hunt. If you insist on score...112” very respectable for a first buck regardless of your age. You’ve put in the work, the trophy is worth way more to you, than to rich folks that basically buy $10,000 deer to say “I shot that”!

Congrats on the first buck, like others have said age and score do not matter on the first buck an it generally gets easier to get more after breaking that ice. Score I think 110 to 115
From what you said about the teeth I think he is older than first appears, reminds me of one I watched right after the ARs went in and he did not make the spread with on one side just growing a big post on one side and heavy typical 4 points on the other, for a couple years and then the next year much smaller version of the same and the 4th year later one side was about like that one has and the other a spike about 9 inches long. I believe the last year I saw him he was at least 9 years old.

Wow that’s a great deer for your first buck. You also didnt kill the first one you saw either and waited for this one. That’s another kudos for you. I’m not that good on score. Age is hard for me to judge without seeing body pics.
Well done sir!

This buck is the same age and score as all first bucks....
It’s about 7 years old and measures out at about 250, give or take.

Age, old enough to die. Score, a solid W (win). You're stoked, and can't wait to shoot another one, so that's a great deer.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I am very happy with my first buck regardless of score/age. I have had some great friends who have taken me hunting many times at their place since high school and even let me take a few does over the years! It really gets the blood pumping shooting anything but even more when horns come into play. Their is a toad I have been hunting but it's good to know that he and any of the other big guys that weren't harvested are still out there pending another hunter shoot them. I was already hooked and now so that much more!
Thanks everyone!

Congrats on your first buck! I didn't shoot my 1st buck until I was 27. 17 years later, hunting is by far my favorite hobby and favorite way to spend time with my boys.

Hunting is definitely my favorite hobby since I have started hunting when I was 18. Now that I have some horns to put on the wall I am that much more addicted! Cant wait for the years to come and learning more with experience. Last weekend I duck hunted for the first time and am also completely obsessed with another form of hunting.
2020 has been great to me especially in the hunting column. Went on my first elk hunt which was unsuccessful however one of the best experiences with some great friends. Got on my first hunting lease which has been a lot of fun and got to kill my first buck! Went on my first duck hunt which we killed 7 quackers between the 3 of us! Couldn't be more pleased!

I started hunting back when mature bucks were a rarity. I shot many many does, but did not shoot my first buck until I was approaching 30. None have been exceptional, with a few in the 120s, but every one was legal and cause for a sense of accomplishment. I had one shoulder mounted a couple of years ago that was not much bigger than this one in the OP, but he was also the first buck I had taken from property I OWNED, so he was special to me.
Congrats on your first and what a great start!
