No research so far that shows the vaccine is less effective against the new strain from across the pond.

Or it's effectiveness against the original one. Or against the next. This will be a yearly mutating virus. Y'all will be getting these shots for the rest of your lives. Mark my words.

The same people who want people to be required to carry a Covid vaccine certification are the same people who oppose voter ID....

Let that sink in a minute.....

Have you gotten yours yet?

No sir I haven’t and I honestly don’t plan on it at this point. It may turn out to be a great product but I’m afraid it’s become so political that no one knows what to honestly think and those that are praising it are merely repeating what they’ve heard or been told by the exact same people that have contradicted themselves for months on various things. The problem I have is that their is so much confusion circulating around that the normal every day Joe such as myself doesn't truly know what to believe and are scared they may actually grow a third testicle “Joking of course” but the fact remains people are confused, somewhat scared and very skeptical of our leaders thus making them defensive towards what’s being shoved in their face. I truly hope it’s a solid defense on this Covid mess but it needs time to be proven and some real data to be collected before the skeptics such as myself become open minded enough to say ok let’s do this.
To those that are 100% onboard with it I understand where their coming from and completely respect their beliefs and point of view however they need to do the same with the others who say the opposite. This is a widely viewed topic that even if it’s proven to be a fix will still have those that are nay sayers that will never be on board with it. I personally try to look at everything with an open mind but I’m so dang confused myself I feel like Im in a cloud with fairy dust all around me mixed in with devil dust. I just pray everyone can survive this disaster and by some miracle be better off because of it. I’m sure I’ll get flamed for my thoughts on the matter but these are my beliefs and I’m confident others somewhat feel the same way.

Come back w/a 5 month & year(s) updates. Curious to see if it makes you immune to it (like 60% of the population is already) or if you get any odd happenings.

My elderly mother will get her first shot from Brookshire's next week. Those of you in the country who have one nearby, can check into it with them.

I have a couple of medical problems that I thought might be reason enough not to take the shot. I have a family doctor that is conservative in all his treatments and he has been my family dr. for 35 + years. I have heart problems ( had 4 bypass surgery 7-13-20) , diabetic but not on meds, yet, am over 75 yo. My dr said he recommended everyone take the shot even my wife and she is healthy as the proverbial horse. So when my turn comes up for the shot I will be taking it. Daniel

My wife and I received the vaccine this morning. There were hundreds of other healthcare/frontline workers lined up with us. For us it is as much about keeping others safe as ourselves. We got the moderna vaccine which our company helped develop. I work in early phase research and have for almost half my life. I trust the research process because I see it in action daily. That being said I respect everyone’s right to choose what is best for them. I’m just ready for this crap to be over.

One thing that needs to be established is those that DON'T need the vaccine.

I haven't heard a word about that yet.

Likely the only folks that will be on that list are people who have allergic reactions to vaccines....otherwise it will be recommended that basically everyone get it.

My wife and I both have antibodies, we don't need it.
That's the purpose of a vaccine.

346,925 divided by 20,061,818 = .0172 = 1.72% death rate. Not .2%. Just about every reputable physician without an agenda recommends the vaccine. COVID is the leading cause of death in the U.S. right now. Over 4,000 dead per day. That’s more than 9/11 every day.

I have never seen so many display such ignorance so proudly as I have with this pandemic - especially as it relates to mask wearing and getting the vaccine. If the world had as many know-it-all tinfoil hat wannabe doctors in the early to mid 20th century as it does today we would still be dying of smallpox and polio. Listen to the people that know, not idiots trying to stoke fear for votes or money or whatever. Wear a mask in public. Get the vaccine so we can reach herd immunity and put this disease in our rear view mirror. Please.

Current recommendation I saw is recommending those with previous covid exposure to still be vaccinated since there are instances of folks getting covid a second time. Idea is the vaccine will still help prevent that or at a minimum make the infection less severe.

My family and I have already had it. It was less than the flu.

I sat in the hospital for a week during Christmas watching my dad die and asked all of the health professionals that came in the ICU about their opinions on the vaccine. It was pretty much 50/50 on whether they got the Covid shot or not. I won’t get the vaccine but I’ve also never gotten a flu shot. If half the health professionals in Dallas didn’t get it when offered why would I?

Nog, you know I love you, but that’s a load of crap. Those numbers are inflated, masks have been proven to cause more problems than they solve, and viruses are a fact of life. It’s nothing to fear. It isn’t Trump’s fault. And I won’t give in to the liberal narrative of this vaccine solving anything. Plenty of people “in the know” disagree with your stance. It isn’t fair to cast judgement so harshly, nor do I believe it’s accurate. I’ve done the same, so I understand. I just hope you reconsider your stance.
