I like the idea of you saying you are going to build another one for your daughter. I notice you didn't say you were going to give her one of these. Maybe when I die, lol. The 16” rifle is a Christmas gift for one of my sons, I built another in 5.56 for my other son as he doesn’t have a coyote rifle. The 18” is staying with me, lol. I like the 16 inch rifle so much I think I’m going to build a spare upper to go on my rifle. I wish I had bought a couple more barrels when Wilson had them on sale.

Has anyone tried: Federal Bullets 7.62x51mm NATO (308 Diameter) 130 Grain Open Tip Match AKA MK319 130gr SOST https://www.midwayusa.com/product/953120598I've wanted some to try out for a while in the .308's never got around to getting any. I through a bid out on gunbroker and just got 1k for $305 shipped. Pretty cheap in my eyes considering. The seller posted another case as my auction ended.. 2 - available now. https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?Keywords=PB762BMI also contacted RMR after seeing this.. https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bul...n-sost-mk319-otm-bullets-new-production/It's an old link and they don't have any, and aren't going to get any in the foreseeable future. I've been digging around and finding a lot of guys use them in the 7.62x40WT and 300BLK with great results. Just seeing if anyone has any experience with them in the HAM`R, one of the selling points to me on the cartridge was the substantial increase in power over traditional defense rifles and I feel these bullets will absolutely fill that role. Thanks for any info, Stay Warm & Healthy out there! I haven't tried them, but they look like they will work. Let us know how they shoot for you?

My youngest daughter(13 years old) took her first deer in 5 years yesterday using the 30O HAM’R. The 135 FTX dropped this big doe in her tracks. I was a happy dad!

Nice! My 14 year old daughter (my youngest) hunted with the ham’r this season and passed up a nice buck because it wouldn’t go broad side, lord knows my 14 year old son wouldn’t have had the self control to pass up a bad shot. It was disappointing that she didn’t get the buck but I was proud of her ethics and self control.

My oldest daughter dropped this doe at the camp feeder yesterday. This is the third deer we have taken with the 135 FTX and they have all dropped in their tracks. We hunted last year with the HOT CORE ammo and It worked well but we really are having great results with the FTX.

I’ll have to try the ftx bullets out. They are lead core for 30-30’s correct? I’ve been trying to decide what kind of bullet to use for moose and elk next year if we drawn tags, we will definitely use the 300 ham’r. I would have used it this year for elk but didn’t have the rifle ready in time. I ended up shooting a big cow elk with my 6.5 grendel and a Hornady 120gr gmx bullet, performed great complete pass through with good expansion at moderate AR velocities (2400fps). I was leaning towards a .308 gmx type bullet in the 125-140gr range if I can keep the velocities in the 2300-2500 window. I know Hornady makes a 140gr mono-flex bullet for the .30-30 that might work depending on how deep it has to be seated. I’m going to stick with lead core bullets for deer and medium game.

Might want to send WILSON COMBAT a PM and see what he recommends for bigger tough animals. He used mostly 150 for the animals he shot in Africa this year.

Nice shooting Bill, looks like those bucks are well fed. I always used to tell people that these Whitetails up here tasted like Grade A prime beef, a nice diet of soybeans, corn, and alfalfa, in addition to acorns an clover!

Yes Sir, you're right, those rounds in my 5.56 mags are about 5 degrees left of centerline in my 5.56 mags.. Pmags are OK, but Lancer's are the bomb!

Mr. Wilson,
I have a dedicated HAM'R 8-inch home defense SBR with Rugged Micro Suppressor I keep by the nightstand. I noticed you don't list the 135 HAM'R Bonded as a home/ranch defense round. I never got around to testing a few rounds through drywall but is it your impression the 135 HB penetrates too much for a home scenario? I see the FTX is back in stock and was going to grab 200 if that is the case. I run the 135HB in my 11.3 truck gun and like to keep as much of my ammo the same but don't mind running a few different rounds if the scenario calls for it.
Last thing, since the FTX is not available in Nickel, if I don't leave a round in the chamber on a heated gun, I shouldn't have any issues with brass cases in the suppressed 8-inch right?
Thanks,
Bryan

Our Christmas turkey got got HAM’Red. I’ve been hunting a turkey all weekend. As a family we really like turkey nuggets. Finally today they showed up. 150 yard shot with the 300 HAM’R using the 135gr FTX and we have our holiday bird!

Bryan I've found the 135FTX to be an all around do all choice like the 130HHC is. But like I've stated here before, all of the following perform well on deer and hogs, just pick the one your barrel likes: 130HHC 135FTX 135HB 150SST 150BTSP Most of the loads will shoot through walls, if over penetration is a concern I'd consider the Hornady 110SP or Sierra 125PH We will eventually have more loads available in nickel cases, but right now we're just trying to keep our heads above water.........

On another note. I’m loading up some rounds tomorrow starting with new brass I just got from WC. Question I have is this. Should I do any prep like size or trim / chamfer. Or is this stuff ready to roll as is new

That’s all I hunt with and my family really likes turkey nuggets. It is their favorite wild game meal. We have taken two this season. One with 6.8 and mine with 300 HAM’R. Both will provide several meals for the family.

Oh we hunt the daylights outa Turkey here too. But it’s only legal with shotshell. It’s a whole damn thing finding the right choke and ammo that’ll reach out and get em. But even then 50-60 yards is pushing ethical

You'll notice quite a difference. I choose to eliminate a variable & run the new cases through the sizing die too. That way I'll be working with the same size case at every subsequent loading.

Guys,
I've read just about the whole thread and I'm glad to find somewhere with such great info on the HAM'R.
How are you guys checking shoulder setback or bump when you resize cases? I haven't had great success with the Hornady comparator giving me any sort of consistent results. Also, fireformed cases that haven't been resized just seem to "squeeze" into shape and spring back out when inserted into the WC case gauge. I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer.
I typically use a Hornady comparator set to measure cartridge base to shoulder datum and adjust dies to give the proper bump accordingly in other calibers.
Mr. Bill, Is it prudent to set the shoulder back slightly more if the rifle is typically suppressed?
