I've wanted some to try out for a while in the .308's never got around to getting any. I through a bid out on gunbroker and just got 1k for $305 shipped. Pretty cheap in my eyes considering.

It's an old link and they don't have any, and aren't going to get any in the foreseeable future.

I've been digging around and finding a lot of guys use them in the 7.62x40WT and 300BLK with great results. Just seeing if anyone has any experience with them in the HAM`R, one of the selling points to me on the cartridge was the substantial increase in power over traditional defense rifles and I feel these bullets will absolutely fill that role.

I’ll have to try the ftx bullets out. They are lead core for 30-30’s correct? I’ve been trying to decide what kind of bullet to use for moose and elk next year if we drawn tags, we will definitely use the 300 ham’r. I would have used it this year for elk but didn’t have the rifle ready in time. I ended up shooting a big cow elk with my 6.5 grendel and a Hornady 120gr gmx bullet, performed great complete pass through with good expansion at moderate AR velocities (2400fps). I was leaning towards a .308 gmx type bullet in the 125-140gr range if I can keep the velocities in the 2300-2500 window. I know Hornady makes a 140gr mono-flex bullet for the .30-30 that might work depending on how deep it has to be seated. I’m going to stick with lead core bullets for deer and medium game.

I have a dedicated HAM'R 8-inch home defense SBR with Rugged Micro Suppressor I keep by the nightstand. I noticed you don't list the 135 HAM'R Bonded as a home/ranch defense round. I never got around to testing a few rounds through drywall but is it your impression the 135 HB penetrates too much for a home scenario? I see the FTX is back in stock and was going to grab 200 if that is the case. I run the 135HB in my 11.3 truck gun and like to keep as much of my ammo the same but don't mind running a few different rounds if the scenario calls for it.

Last thing, since the FTX is not available in Nickel, if I don't leave a round in the chamber on a heated gun, I shouldn't have any issues with brass cases in the suppressed 8-inch right?

On another note. I’m loading up some rounds tomorrow starting with new brass I just got from WC. Question I have is this. Should I do any prep like size or trim / chamfer. Or is this stuff ready to roll as is new

Generally it’s a good idea to trim and chamfer prior to loading new brass for consistency Sake if nothing else.
