I was talking with a friend today about taking a calf in to be butchered and he told me all the slaughter houses were booked out to 2022.

Maybe that is just in his area. Anybody else taken one in?

I called the one nearest me last June and they were booked through the year. Called back up place and they were no longer doing beef.

It’s like that everywhere. A handle of Crown will go a long way to getting to the front of the line. Show some salesmanship and make the right friend.

I remember taking a steer down 42’nd street in Odessa when I was a kid. Both halves split on Jim Poles behind o one ton. We watched the processing because they porked us on beef the year before.

My brother says there's too much waste to have a live beef butchered, just sell it at auction and go to the market and buy some beef.

Yes. Has been a thing for a year now after all the stock shows were cancelled. Now that " Biden won" we just let all our calves out, won't be a processor available for years now that the country will be shut down again.
