Whats really funny is Buzz starting any kind of “one upper” thread...
Something tells me he just bought another expensive new custom rifle and feels the need to justify to himself “other people spend a lot of money on less than necessary but dang nice and very functional” things like camo clothes

Best way I can put it in regards to premium hunting clothes:
People ask “ why do you need all that high $$$ clothing to go hunting?
I don’t need it to go hunting, I need it to stay hunting.
Spend money where it makes sense. A lot of guys who question the clothing aspect have a safe full of guns they rarely shoot. Reallocate some rifle funds for better clothing/equipment.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Buzz you spend enough every yr on guns and optics to buy 20 sets of fancy Camo yet you only hunt a couple times a year. Makes no damn sense.

You dont need Kuiu or Sitka to sit on a feeder. You likely need some to hunt sheep, moose, bear, etc where you need real performance. Kind of the difference between a pro mechanic using Snap-on and you changing your old ladies oil with a Chinese crescent wrench. EXACTLY I've killed a lot of good deer and my clients have as well wearing a pair of old worn out wrangler jeans, a t-shirt, and an old faded out Carhart jacket! ROFLMAO I equate this to the old days (early 90s) when I fished quite a bit and would see guys pulling up to boat ramp with a $100k worth of truck and bass boat. Well, they'd zoom past me in my old skeeter baby wrangler (I paid $4k) for out onto the lake and then I'd walk past them at the weigh-in to collect my check!
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Humor aside, could someone post a list of perhaps the top 3-5 high tech clothes manufacturers?

Humor aside, could someone post a list of perhaps the top 3-5 high tech clothes manufacturers? For what addiction? Whitetail hunting: sitka, first lite, maybe some others make the list Mountain/western hunting: Kuiu, sitka, Stone glacier Waterfowl hunting: Sitka, Cabelas branded gear, I am sure there are others Upland hunting: beretta, I am sure theres others. There is technical gear for every type of hunting out there. I am not posting this to say I know a bunch, because I obviously don't, but each type of hunting has a specific brand(s) geared toward it, and very few companies do it all well. Sitka is one who has been around and has a lot of different clothing lines for different types of hunting. But others are trying to get into the game and some have good gear some don't. If you want to ask about a specific type of hunting or application you will probably get a better answer. And this doesn't even include quite a few non-hunting specific clothing brands that a lot of hunters use, prana, acteryx, etc..

Tree stand hunting in Iowa is focused on warmth while early season elk requires more mobility while still being able to layer for warmth. Texas hunting is really in its own league as as as a whole, we sit in little houses to shoot our animals. Whitetail hunting in a tree stand in November in Saskatchewan for instance, old jeans, flannel shirt and a carhart jacket you will likely freeze to death.

Some people donate some good stuff to goodwill. I got a nice camo jacket for $5. Goodwill is right next to Harbor Freight so I like toke poke in once in a while.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

If you are hunting in a blind, chances are the interior in black. If you want to be invisible, wear black.
If a deer spots you, close one eye and he won't know you are a predator. Old Indian trick I'm told.
For spot and stalk hunts, I mostly wore tan, brown or green cargo pants and whatever camo jacket I have. I bought almost all my Camo jackets and vest from Cabela's when they were heavily discounted after hunting season.
I think my "go to" is one of Cabela's house brands "outfitter" Camo hooded pullovers.

Look, most of the time camo is a joke. I've previously posted pictures of my bushman trackers in Namibia wearing bright blue pants and bright blue shirts. This was on spot and stalk hunts, and we never had any problems. If you're not a bow hunter and trying to get within 25 yards of an animal, I'm not sure camo has any real value. What isn't a joke are the new fabrics. Cotton is a terrible hunting fabric, and while wool is the gold standard and still has a place, the simple truth is that the modern fabrics are **better**, if you're hunting actively, or are going to be exposed to extreme conditions. When I say "better", I mean they will keep you warmer, drier, are more compact and are quieter. All of this comes at a (sometimes ridiculous) price. You certainly don't need to open up your wallet if you're going to hunt in a blind when the temperatures are in the mid sixties.
Don't confuse the gear queens at the local mall with the hunters at 11,000 feet in January who really need superior gear.
