Well hunting can be tough and sometimes you don’t recover the animal. He shot at a turkey and no question he hit it, but he said he aimed for it’s body and not his head. He’s 5 and was super nervous, so I understand why he aimed where he did. After a few minutes a fat ring neck/Eurasian dove showed up and he asked it was a bird we could shoot. I told him it was and told him to go for it. He lined it up and took the shot. I thought it was A great opportunity to make his day and help build his confidence level.

I can’t be more proud of my grandsons and how their choosing to follow my passion for hunting. We’ll be back in the blind tomorrow morning for one last shot at a turkey. Fingers crossed and I hope the hunting gods shine on us tomorrow morning.

Good looking grandson.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill
