Bumping this thread with a pic of a Dickens county buck killed Saturday morning on our pasture at the Pitchfork ranch. Sapper Titan killed this 192 3/8 monarch. You don’t have to travel out of state to kill big mulies..... Thanks Marc. I’m impatiently waiting on an email with a bunch of awesome pics from your camera Whatevers on that roll of film cant be much better than what youve posted. The only difference was the angle with different background. Also lighting was a little better when he took pics. I don’t think any of the pics are bad though

Dang that’s a monster! How’s the herd in Dickens doing in general? Heard looks pretty good on our lease. We have about 15 does and some smaller bucks hitting one of our alfalfa pens. Mule deer seem to be more tolerant than WT. We got some good snow and rain in October and we have winter weeds everywhere. Hope to get more precipitation so the bucks have plenty to forage on after a tough rut and winter.

Not remotely in the same league as the monster posted above, but pretty good for a Childress lease that hasn't taken a mule deer in five or six years. He's never been on camera, and I'd never seen him before he stepped in front of me Monday morning at 240 yards. I double checked for space between the ears and antlers and then squeezed the trigger. ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50650908591_7bbfc791e6_b.jpg)

For the Gearheads...what rifle, cartridge, and ammunition did you use? Just my .02, LeonCarr

The rifle is a Christensen Arms "Carbon Classic", which seems to be a short lived model they make for distribution by Cabelas. The suppressor is a Griffin Armament .338 Precision Hunter on a Griffin Armament taper mount / brake. Scope is a Burris XTR II 2-10x (MOA), and the ammo was my own .30-06 reload of a 180 grain Speer BTSP over a modest load of IMR 4350. Incidentally, that 180 grain Speer is a very soft bullet, so use accordingly.
