Back when I had a lease in south TX (in early 2001-02). After we would corn the senderos - a couple of times I was shocked to see yotes eating corn along side the deer! Never seen that again in east tx nor out in Abilene areas. Definitely not the norm.
I gave up Hunt'n + Fish'n...It was the worst 15 Minutes of My Life!!

When I hunted in Mexico you would see coyotes eating corn on the senderos next to deer, it was almost like they had a truce during supper time......

Neat pic
Gossip dies when it hits a wise person’s ears. Rumor and lies are created by haters, spread by fools, and unfortunately believed by the naïve!

You must mix cat food with your corn, or that yote has no teeth & swallows corn whole.

Times are tuff! But that's why they are called a survivor because they can adapted. I was out mowing my pasture and the grasshoppers were flying away from the mower and the coyotes came up close to catch them in mid air.

I've seen it multiple occasions on the Pitchfork. It's understood between them they are usually not after deer that are healthy......IME. Healthy fawns of course they will try to eat when young and vulnerable.

Oh that Coyote is up to something. Bet on it.
I've never been a fan of having something on fire in my pocket.

I've seen coyotes eat corn many times both in S TX and at my place in far Eastern Bexar County as well.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Doing habitat assessments on Lake Lewisville, I've noticed quite a bit of coyote scat with a lot of honey locust and mesquite seeds. It's no wonder they're everywhere, they can eat just about anything.
