I'm a panhandle convert. Where else can you have whitetail, mule deer, turkeys, pheasant, quail, dove, sandhill crane and just about every other critter? I choose Hall.

I am a pretty big fan of good ole Grayson. You have to deal with the good and the meth lol. I see plenty of wildlife, Lake, and some topo changes where I am at. Hill country is beautiful though and I do not dislike West Texas.

The original Bexar county of December 20, 1836

Quote
Bexar County was created on December 20, 1836, and encompassed almost the entire western portion of the Republic of Texas. This included the disputed areas of western New Mexico northward to Wyoming.

Jack county because I have spent so much time there in those big hills with good deer and turkey hunting, great folks and decent amount of rain.
There are so many other counties in this great state that I have never been to or spent very little time in that could easily be a favorite too.

I don't know that I would call it my favorite, but Nueces County ranks high on my list too. I've spent so much time there since about '86 that I just have a ton of great memories there. At this point it seems like my second home.

I have a preferred regions but I don’t have a favorite county. aesthetically speaking most counties have really pretty parts and some really ugly parts. Productivity wise it’s the same way.

I agree with both of these and will throw in Erath as well since me and my wife and our families are life long resident. I like Palo Pinto because of the lake and Mary`s Cafe that we have been going to for over 30 years, not to mention the history of the Thurber-Mingus area where the infamous "Trio Club" still stands. I love hood because me and my wife travel there often to eat and shop(much better than Stephenville). I also worked in Granbury when I was in the grocery business years ago and me and my wife have considered moving there several times.

For visual aesthetics, I'll throw out Kerr or Bandera counties.

For purely personal memories and excitement, I'll throw out Nueces, Kleberg and Zapata counties, for nearly 15 years straight growing up fished the rocks of Baffin Bay with my Dad, friends and brothers most weekends while not in deer season and during deer season for 30+ years, chased them hard most weekends on the Zapata/Webb county line. Good times and tons of stories and memories.

They were my favorite in the 60's 70's and 80's but then way too much development and population growth started taking it's toll on the landscape and culture!
Big ranches turning into subdivisions, and too many people have ruined it in my opinion.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
