There's no mustard powder or black pepper in Fremin's Magic Dust.

I figured it would taste great on grilled catfish! Cracker Barrel used to sell a seasoning that was similar that was good on catfish.

Used this stuff on grilled chicken, burgers, fries and even pulled pork tacos. Good stuff!

I don't purchase seasoning blends. As I have gotten older I have learned to make my own.

Below is one of my favorites.

Salt Free Cajun Seasoning

Recipe for a salt free Cajun seasoning. Measure each ingredient into a large bowl. Stir together then store in a container that will seal tightly. The spice could be ran through a coffee grinder if a finer grind is desired. If you are out of a spice you can skip using it except for the paprika.

If a bulk amount of seasoning was wanted for like Christmas gifts then ounces of each spice could be used in place of Tablespoons. One local spice shops sells spices by the scoop. I purchase spices "by the scoop" using that measurement instead of tablespoons when I want a bunch of spice mix.

By not adding salt to the blend I can better control the amount of salt in my dishes. If you wanted a sweeter version, just add sugar.

Paprika 4 Tablespoons ---Use a sweet variety

Onion powder 2 Tablespoons
Garlic powder 2 Tablespoons
Basil 2 Tablespoons
Marjoram 2 Tablespoons
Parsley 2 Tablespoons
Oregano 2 Tablespoons

Thyme 1 Tablespoons
Black pepper 1 Tablespoons
Cayenne pepper 1 Tablespoons. I can always add more at the table, but I can't take it out once added.

Luck favors the prepared mind.
