I do not know you or your " style " of communicating on this forum but to refer to me as a wife beater. I find offensive. If that is your true meaning for your statement then I suggest you get help . i do not nor will I raise my hand to a woman as I have respect for the female of our species in what they do to raise and mother our children. Your correct I do find alot of simple innuendos are stated and written in here and we all must maintain a fair amount of thicker skin when replying on here or discussing items of interest. You should not have to apologize for your above post, after all this forum is tall tales and yarns, meaning everything in here is a joke. And as sometimes your posts are a feeble attempt at humor, 2 things come to mind.
1. Of the 67,119 members, I'm betting you did not offend 67,118 of us. You, like the other 67,117 of us, don't have to virtue signal our dislike for the physical and emotional abuse of the fairer sex. In our upbringing, it was taught to us by a strong father figure who not only preached said virtue, but lived it.
And 2. When you've been a member for 5 minutes and are trying to run your post count up, please don't at the expense of a THF icon like Bill Oxner. Opossum, please look inward and see if you are worthy of reading the words of wisdom from our curmudgeon and prognosticator.

I would not have apologized, and I offend way less people than Oxner does on a daily basis.

Simple old joke that got misunderstood. No real reason to apologize. And anyways, his apology could perhaps be "tongue-in-cheek".
