Well, this was a first. While walking the dog along a trail I keep mowed, noticed a brown 'lump' about 10 yards in the brush. Backed up and then realized it was a buck curled up sound asleep! He heard me getting the camera & taking the lens off and woke up, but you could tell he was groggy and that allowed me to get off a shot. As soon as he realized what we were, he was up & gone in one fluid move. The dog remained silent, but she really wanted to chase(I keep her on a leash).

The remainder of the pics were taken of a few deer behind a high fence. I didn't think I would see any driving by, as the county tractor was "mowing the trees" to clear branches off the road. Guess the deer had seen that before. Special surprise today was a double-drop tine, but he was gone before I could get a good shot, so you're stuck with only viewing a single drop, or two.

Beautiful bucks and pictures!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

They sleep with open eyes?
