When a lion walks, you can see his shoulder blades working above his backbone and there appears to be a hump over the shoulder area as it walks. I have no idea how far the critter is from the camera so I have no idea of body size. Adios, Gary

LOL. Bob or house cat, that thing's tiny. Compare it to the weeds and look at both pics.

That would be the smallest lion on record.

Also, a big male lion in TX that weighs 120+ is likely going to stand only about 24"-26" at the top of his shoulders. I am not even looking at the size or even the tail end. This cat's front half body confirmation just does not look like any bobcat I've ever seen.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

How does it look any different than this? Did you look at the daylight picture? The weed directly above the 'cat' is in about the same plane as the deer and is about the same height as the deer's face, MAYBE 6-7". In the cat pic, the cat is ~2x times the weed, making him less than 15" tall and possibly even closer to 12" tall. It would have to be a very juvenile lion to be that small. It certainly could be, but I'm going bobcat.

I say Bob because of size or a Mexican Mountain Lion I did take a person hunting for a doe with me on a lease I was on out west, he missed a couple of big does broadside standing still about 60 yards away with his .270. Well last day there we are walking down a Pipeline Rd and he excitedly says stop, so now I am looking for a doe down the road and I said where I do not see a doe?? He said it is not a doe it is a MT Lion and I ask where, he replies about 125 yards down the pipeline rd on the left. I finally found the beast and said that ain't no MT Lion it is a Small Bobcat at best, he replies no it is a MT Lion it is of the Mexican variety they are smaller Okay I am grinning big time and said do you want to shoot it? he said yes. Remember he cannot hit a big mature doe standing broadside at 60 yards now he is free handed wanting to shoot this beast walking away from him at 125 yards, I said go ahead. He shoots and hits it I said come on lets go look at it and he replies no we better wait it might not be dead yet I laughed and said I have a 12 gauge shotgun and you have a rifle, if that is a MT Lion it is the smallest one in the world come on. We get to it and it is a cat, now I start jacking with him and telling him he killed the neighbors house cat and he is unnerved saying really. As we are walking off I shot a sparrow and said look, it is a eagle but it is much smaller because it is of the Mexican variety

I am confused - who in the world could call that picture a bobcat? I have seen hundreds of them in the wild and they do not look like that - somebody help me and tell me what I am missing?

Looks like a lion to me. The head and neck shape really look like it. How tall is the grass clump in front of the cat? Have a daylight photo for reference to weeds, grass or brush height? Those weeds/grass make it look like a small cat. Yep. Looks more like a lion in shape.

I just looked at the daytime pic of the size of the scrub brush with a deer there for scale. Not only is it the size of a bobcat but I would say it's even not a very big one.

Looks like a bobcat to me. Not big enough to be a lion and if it was a juvenile that young it wouldn’t be alone. Looks just like this bob.

House Lion I say mountain lion. It could be a feral cat, some of those things have learned to survive in some awful places. There was one on a place in Brewster county that was rarely seen, to my knowledge it was never fed, but always looked to have never missed a meal. Miles from any house where people lived.

Too funny....
I could put a Rorschach test under a feeder and half the morons here would say it is a mountain lion.
That thing is tiny.

Could be an Oscillot, its neck seems longer than a Bob. The pic is not defined enough to tell or tail, just a guess a ring tailed wookie whompas cat.
