I'd love to hunt pronghorn. One of the prettiest mounts in my opinion.

Great story. You thought Ide never ask. Another thread about what constitutes a Trophy makes me wonder if you had a score in mind or was it mostly a decent animal and an overall good experience you were after? I assume you were pleased with him and the experience. I took a small buck last year on the last day of the hunt. My goal this year was to take at least an average animal if the chance presented, but mainly to be out and about enjoying some very beautiful country. I’ve always been enamored with antelope but stupidly waited a long time to hunt them despite living 90 miles from NM the last 28 years. I did not have a score in mind but wanted good character, which he has, and at least 13-14” horns. He tapes 13-5/8” and 13-6/8”, 4” prongs, and has a great shape and symmetry. Honestly the more I look at the picture, the more I wish I had skinned him for a shoulder mount. I am very pleased, but a touch sad that it was over the first day. I agree on the one day and done sadness. My only Pronghorn was on the first day. Thats one reason I dont get into out of state or any short time frame hunt. I love lease hunting because i enjoy the entire process of preparing and thinking about everything. And then I have all season to hunt and just keep passing up bucks and taking pictures and enjoying sharing it with others.
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH
