Has anyone purchased one of the units that’s finished out ? Would love to hear what you think of it if so.

They are really really simple to finish out. Your build out is technically not structural so it’s very simple.

Xcaliber will put door and windows and ac unit if your aren’t a welder

With that said you can design anything you want into and xcaliber will do it.

8 feet wide is difficult to deal with.

I worked on Prevost, MCIs, Eagles, GMCs, and Vanhools, etc. for over 30 tears. Not to mention POS motorhomes, trailers, and fifth wheels. 8 feet wide sucks. They stretched it to 8 1/2ft, still sucked.

I think I’m going to build one after the first of the year for the lease. Currently sleeping in a converted cargo trailer that is 8x16, an extra 4 feet would be wonderful.

Listen to Simple Searcher. Just two feet is 25% more better.

I've purchased 2 of their finished units for customers and 2 of the regular units from them and have had great experiences with them. The 40' finished is an awesome unit with so many uses.

I have the 20 footer we bought as a one tripper & finished out ourselves. Well hired it out. Has 2 full beds, 2 twin beds, shower, toilet, washer dryer hookups we use that area for storage/kitchen stuff. Storage under the beds. Hot water heater is behind shower and accessed via the end door if needed.. The Excalibur rough finish out is $6,900 plus delivery last time I looked. Ours is perfect in 20 degree and 100 degree Temps. Good as new 6 years later. Can't say that about any camper we have.

I was talking about internal room and therefore convenience and comfort, but the photos shown sure look appealing.

I just started seeing these units on Craig's and have shown nuff interest to creep on their website.

Thanks. I can't take credit except trenching utilities & directing delivery and using it a lot. I do own it myself now. Buddy designed it perfect after looking at the ones from the prefab guys and knew he could do better. That is what he does for a living though. We wanted to maximize a small space and never feel cramped.

And yeah, all that white stuff is from Ikea!!

Oh, ya all said and finished mine is 7’ inside, it’s narrower then my travel trailer. That is a down side but I don’t have a bunch of random stuff I don’t use. With that said, energy efficiency and 100% lack of bugs and mice makes the loss of some width worth it, IMO.

Wish I had more money and time I’d build them just for fun and sale them. Fun projects. I’ve seen some really elaborate builds on some of the tiny home blogs and Instagram. Some very smart space saving ideas.

There are a lot of websites with more building ideas, than time.

Four or five years ago, I needed new accommodations and did not want a travel trailer. Found an older 10X30 job trailer converted into living quarters in the sticks outside of Westhoff. Outside was rough, but interior definitely looked "workable". Went out there to bargain and ended up not. Paid full price. Had to pay a guy 12 hundies cash to move it to and set it up in Fowlerton. We hooked up the power, electrical and to the septic. Wifeypoo used her power washer to clean up exterior and I painted the exterior and gave a cool coat application to the roof. Had to purchase on A/C unit for the front and replaced the kitchen light. The kitchen was all there, but the frig that came with it had to be replaced the next year. Also bought a couch for under the big window. Did nothing else. Not shown in photos below is the bedroom, but there is door to it and Wifeypoo can have some privacy if the guys come over to hang out, eat or whatever.

I am hearing there are lots o' oil field bargains out there. I see equipment stacked up everywhere.

Brent does a very good job on these units, I'm about to purchase a twenty footer. He's our former GW, a very nice guy and neighbor.

I have several units from Xcaliber. They do great work, get them built pretty quick, & are easy to deal with.
