The trial will be over a year away. The violet protest will only give the defense an advantage by claiming that there is bias by all of the prosecutors and jury. The appeals will go on for years.

There is something to be said of protesters vs looters. A protester does not need to be reminded not to be destructive or not violent, that is implied in the protest. A protest is nonviolent, peaceful. A riot is violent, not peaceful, and should be shut down. A protest should never be shut down.

Tbh, protests for this situation are not surprising and if it were my kid, brother, friend, I would be protesting this too.

It will be interesting to see the news by state if or when something like that happens. I figure in Texas it could go badly for them. I always thought there were a lot of serious hunters, fishermen, outdoors types in MN. Those thugs might be in for a fatal surprise.

Protests are probable/expected across the USA this weekend

If you are going to a protest:

Wear black head to toe.
Masks (you can do this with a black t-shirt, google Piqueteros).
Comfortable footwear for being on your feet potentially for an entire day.
The more uniform everyone looks the harder it is for the state to identify who did what (no face no case).
Wear another color under your black in case you need to strip it off to blend into the general population.
Bring extra PPE to assist everyone in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
Strikers should move to the role of unarresting/intervening physically against police violence. Pad your dominant forearm to absorb baton blows (it may save you a broken arm).

It's everyone's job to assist medics in collecting supplies and lending a hand when called on during an emergency.

Call for a medic with both arms crossed over your head. "Medic"!!

In the event chemical irritants are deployed, eyes are washed with water (street medics have moved away from maylox in recent years). The chemicals are oily, treat them like you would poison ivy.
Do not wear contacts if you can help it/wear eye protection.
When medics offer a snack or water, take it (you need it).
If someone goes down shield them body as they are vulnerable to attack/trampling.

Keep the cameras off injured peoples (short spay paint cans are good for taking care of camera lenses that refuse to move). Also, watch what you broadcast and post, everyone is watching and you don't know what or how it will be used, maybe against you or others.

After the action, check in with medics. Medics are notoriously the worst at self-care during crisis and deal with major trauma. Show them care and support.

Stay mobile, avoid being cornered/kettled/flanked. Cops will loudly/concussion grenades are f___ingly loud. Their noise is meant to rattle and disorient you.

Tear gas cannisters will burn a naked hand. They should be returned with at least a 100% cotton gloved hand to the cops that shot them/covered with something like a traffic cone. Never turn your back to an attacker, do not run. Eyes constantly scan outside the crowd . Remain hyper-vigilant at al times. Leave no one behind.

In the event of arrest, do not tell cops anything, not even what you had for breakfast (everybody walks when nobody talks). Legal teams are already working to get you out/bail is already being raised internationally. When the protest is over everyone who is able should go to the jail to stand in solidarity until everyone is released (there are exceptions, legal will help make that call). Write the legal number on your body in several places with sharpie. In the vent trans/non-binary comrades are arrested or detained, cis people MUST go to jail with them. If you have to cross the street to get this done, do it. We never let trans/non-binary comrades go to jail alone.

This also apples to white people when POC are arrested. We protect the most marginalized within our ranks.

One person not in the street needs critical info for those arrested. Real names/DOB?medications/etc. Write it down somewhere safe off site, burn it later. Do NOT use Google Docs or other forms. These are insecure and subject to subpoena.

Jesus says to love our enemies, to turn our cheek when hit on one side, so our other side can be hit.
We are all sinners, we all deserve the same fate. Jesus died for our sins so that we may spend eternal
Life with Him. That means he also died for those people we call thugs out there doing wrong. Jesus didn’t turn his back to those who tortured him, who hung him on the cross, and He certainly didn’t die JUST for you and me, but for everyone. That means everyone.

Just as two wrongs don’t make a right, two hates don’t turn into love. If you hate on these people you are essentially saying what Jesus did wasn’t enough and you are setting yourself up for something far worse when your judgement day comes.

You are correct in what you say. I would add a few things.

One, our government should be deciding and handling the situations we witness. God speaks of rulers as doing what is right, or should. However, as we see, our government is so off the rails that this Godly expectation has broken down. We should trust and believe that God will judge. That all is known by God. But when you see open defiance of law and your government doing nothing, human nature takes control.

He died to give us all the opportunity for eternal life and peace on this world. Many people often misunderstand what “love or enemies” means. This is not the love we have for family or friends. Love in this reference is talking about loving sinners and praying, wanting, witnessing, and hoping they will find God and seek redemption. It does not mean you love them so you forgive them or do not hold them responsible for their actions. Such as you might a loved one.

There will be no “far worse” for anyone regardless of sins committed. Your sins, whatever they are, do not send you to hell, or put in the Great White Throne Judgement. Your denial/refusal to accept Jesus as your savior is what sends you to hell. The same fate all unsaved will face. The sentence for all those is eternity away from God.

Read Revelations about the opening of the seventh seal. It says that there was silence in Heaven for half an hour. Why? Because all of heaven knew the judgement that was coming. Jesus is judgement at this point. All have been given plenty of opportunities to repent. Those that did not will now face a judgement that caused Heaven to go silent. God has everything under his control. Have peace in this fact.
