"I caught a fish so big, I could not get it in the boat." Best we could measure was 14 foot hammerhead caught at the end o' the Port O jetties. Dropped anchor and chased it all over. Worst mistake ever fishing. We should have cut him loose when we originally brought him to the boat. After about four hours, we finally shot him, measured him and gutted him. I like shark, but tis one tasted like crapola. We shoulda let him go. I contributed to this bad.

How can you have never caught a keeper red. We get tired of pulling them up.

This was a rodeo - all three on at one time and yes, I know only two are reds.

I’m not much of a fisherman but me and the guys from work go a couple of times a year. Last fall we got a house with the deck out over the water and was able to pull this Bull Red in at SLP. Took turns fighting her, and finally had to pass it to the beach to land it.

NOT ME PICTURED

Other than that I’ve caught some giant flatheads out of tawakoni.

Yeah, lol. I netted it. We also already had a 13.3 in the livewell too that morning. Were only netting double digit bass, and I bet I passed on netting 15 5-8# bass that morning. Shocked for 30 minutes total too.
Best guess was the bass moved up that night to feed and were holding on structure that morning before moving back deep. We had surveyed the day before on that lake and only gotten one 8# bass or something like that.
The guy driving the boat said he missed one that was easily a double digit that came up behind the boat too. So you're looking at 3 fish that would of weighed ~40# between the 3 of them.

I have done *a lot* of phishing that I can't talk about. Little fishing though.

I can't find my darn photos:
Caught: 180lb Yellowfin Tuna, 7-1/2' Dusky Shark
Toyed with me: 15' 1000+lb Great White Shark, also lost a 700lb class Blue Marlin during a tournament frown

For a few years I was heavy into big game fishing (still go by TexTuna on a lot of online stuff) until I realized my boys were getting old enough to hunt and hunting is a hell of a lot cheaper than staying offshore 4-5 days at a stretch. I could get a year round lease for the family for what one tuna trip would cost for me. No brainer. I do miss it though...there ain't nothing like sight casting to surface feeding yellowfin tuna with a foot long popper...nothing in the world like it...

Flavor varies from one body of water to another, but crappie are pretty damn good everywhere I've eaten them.

One of the best freshwater fish I've eaten was largemouth bass from Sam Rayburn.

Shows you how much I know about fresh water, I thought large mouth were bad tasting fish. I was under the impression that they were just for sport.
