Like everything, with the pistol/ sbr setup it depends on what you’re doing hunting, sd or both.. that determines your round of choice

My concern about heavier bullets in short barrels is how much down range retained velocity you have at reasonable distances, say out to 150yds. I also have the same concern going shorter than 11.3". Most bullets are designed for reliable expansion down to 1900fps, if you only start out with 2000-2100fps MV for example this doesn't give you much range. But on the flip side, the lighter bullets shed velocity much faster than the heavier ones assuming a similar profile.
For this reason I keep my 11.3" pistol loaded with the 130gr HAM'R HOT-COR rather than 150gr choices.
This probably calls for some serious ballistic comparison on a program like Hornady's Ballistic Calculator...... If it’s close to 2200fps using Hornady’s ballistic calculator it stays above the recommended expansion threshold of 1600fps out to 300yds

I'm about half way into building an 11.3" .300 Ham'r pistol. I'll likely be using the same 135 Gr. FTX's as I'm using in my 18" rifle to keep it simple. The 11.3" should produce almost the same velocity as a 123 grain bullet out of a 16" 7.62x39. If I was hunting I'd want to only shoot at ranges that are above expansion thresholds. But if there was a situation where I had to defend myself at ranges beyond what expansion thresholds call for I wouldn't feel undergunned. At 400 yards the 11.3" Ham'r has about 100 Ft. Lbs. more energy than M855 out of a similar length barrel. While it probably won't get textbook expansion or tumble like the 62 Gr. 5.56, it will do plenty of damage and should poke a nice big .30 caliber hole.
God bless.

@Wilson Combat totally off topic but product suggestion. Y’all should make a silencer adapter in the 1.375x24tpi akin to the Q Plan-B, Griffin Plan-A, Si-Co Omega, Area-419, Dead Air Key-Mo,etc but that uses the Wilson Combat Quell flash hider for mounting.
Apologize for the derail, just excited about getting a new silencer to go along with my new Ham’R.

great idea ar-head... which gives me an idea... wilson... just noticed you joined one year ago this month. all sponsors give away a nice gift on their 1 year anniversary. one of your suppressors would soar your account standing from woodsman to djones apprentice!! pp - all video editing is done remote by russian hackers. not sure what they use but very effective pic for attention

The Speer 135gr HAM'R BONDED bullets are now on the web site for sale, order # is B300HMR-135-HB $14.95/50qty
Starting load is 27gr CFEBLK and they seem to shoot real good between 2400-2425fps from a 18" bbl, 16" will be about 25fps less. I don't have any data for A1680, but you can start with published 150gr loads and work up.

Bill,
You prefer these over the 130 Hot-Cors for pigs? Don't really think you can go wrong with either.

Bill,
You prefer these over the 130 Hot-Cors for pigs? Don't really think you can go wrong with either. For hunting hogs and whitetails any of the following are very good choices and to be totally honest I haven't decided which one I like the best....... Speer 130gr HAM'R HOT-CORE (or the original Speer #2007 flat point) Speer 135gr HAM'R BONDED Hornady 135gr FTX Hornady 150gr SST (#30303 .300 Savage variant) Speer 150gr BTSP Speer 150gr Gold Dot (#300150BLKGDB)
