I bought my 133 acre place almost 40 years ago. I believe it was about $350 per acre. I wasn’t and still am not a rich guy. It’s paid off by now. I’ve never leased it and have no interest in doing so. Grandson, his best friend and I hunt it. Occasionally a girl friend comes along.

Over time, bought a trailer house, dug a well, built tractor shades and bought a shipping container. Home away from home.
It would qualify as junk land. All trees, rocks, hills and draws. 70 miles from home to the front gate. Now worth about 10 times what I paid. For a long time, that’s where we vacationed.

It’s certainly not a trophy hunting place; too small for that. And, I’ll never raise a 10 pound bass in the stock tanks.

I recommend, if at all possible, that others do the same. But, I know that it’s a big step. Can’t afford the place and out of State hunting.

It’s a choice.
