So I'm getting a Tikka T3X A1 in a couple weeks. As I understand it the rail on the Tikka is 0 MOA, and can be difficult to exchange. I was doing some reading and ran across the Spuhr single piece 20moa 30mm mounts, but have yet to find anything that indicates how to figure out which model to use. I have a Bushnell ET6245F (50mm objective), 30mm tube. Anybody using a similar set up, or know where to find the info? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

1. The rail on any rifle is easy to change out. The most "difficult" thing is trying to torque the screws evenly. In fact there are very good $60 or less rails out there with 20moa and proven good.
2. Whether u need 20moa cant or not really depends on how far u want to shoot, the caliber you're shooting and the amount of adjustment your scope has. Meaning, in reality most people don't need that much adjustment for a variety of reason, the most common being distance. That said I now will buy 20moa rails for all rifles regardless.
3. If u do happen to go for a rail with 20-30moa built in, then you can find much cheaper that Spuhr with equally proven performance. Badger Ordance are the rings most people like that has a long track record of holding zero. Not that Spuhr ain't awesome, they're just pricey and very large.

I'm just looking to set up the gun right once and then just leave it. I've done budget build as you go before, and it always seems that I end up spending more that way. The purpose of getting the Tikka in 6.5 is to get Iinto long range shooting, so the 20moa is must have. I could go with a rail swap only and use the Talley rings I currently have on the scope, but honestly I think I just want to try the Spuhr. But the info to figure out which model will work for this rifle/scope combo has been less definitive than I expected.

Fair enough, you're preaching to choir when it comes to spending extra "just to try." For the record though, Badger rings are certainly cheaper but at $150 and up for a pair is far from what I'd call budgetary.

My advice, do not put that mount on the rifle. It is too big, too bulky, too heavy, unnecessary, and is very likely going to place the scope too high to get a comfortable cheek weld on the stock. And then, it is difficult to shoot with.
EGW 20 MOA aluminum pic rail.
Talley Tactical (aluminum), or Night Force ultralite (aluminum) rings.

That is a really bad [censored] mount but as mentioned heavy and bulky
A close buddy runs one on his gun and it’s pretty stupid overkill..

If you like that style might want to consider the Warne Skyline. They are lighter and can be accessorized. https://warnescopemounts.com/product/skyline-precision-mount-30mm-medium/

No one talks about putting a Spuhr on a tikka because it is not needed. Swap the rail and SOP it.

Talley Tactical (aluminum), or Night Force ultralite (aluminum) rings. I bought a set of Talley Tacticals on your advice previously. You weren't wrong then, and you are probably right now. I'll take a look at the EGW 20moa rail and see if the Talleys I have on the scope now work right for this rig. Thanks to everybody for the input.
