Currently, I'm in Virginia. My wife and I are relocating to Texas and will be landing in Yoakum (Lavaca County) March 9th or 10th. I'll be working on three ranches in Gonzales County that all belong to the same owner.
Among other responsibilities, I'll be maintaining coon traps and built-in-place hog traps. From what I hear from the ramrod, I'm gonna be right busy.
I 'preciate y'all allowin' me to join your group and I'm lookin' forward to bein' part of it.

Welcome! I live on the other side of Victoria in a small town called Inez which is 40 miles from Yoakum. Yoakum is a nice small town and Lavaca county has some decent deer in the area. Only about 60 miles from San Antonio so a lot to do there also.

Welcome to the Hunting Forum and to Texas. I spent a lot of time in Moulton when I was a kid, it is back towards I-10 from Yoakum on HY-95. They have some good Kolaches down in that part of the country.

Odd as it might sound, I'm a bit more lookin' forward to the coon huntin' than anything else. I hunted coons for many years until I got arthritis in my knees. Them bottoms up in them Blue Ridge mountains are mighty hard to negotiate when ya' knees refuse to cooperate.
The ramrod tells me the land out there is flat as a mill pond. I can walk that quite a bit. I'm goin' out there with a warrant for Rocky and I'm only gonna tell 'im one time.
