Stihl 362, which has cut down hundreds of trees over the last 9 years. Don't try to one up me. Your move Bill.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Stihl but might consider Echo. My old Stihl is 25 years old and still does the job.

I’m sure they’ll all work fine. It’s getting to where a lighter saw is preferable for me, and I don’t use the old beast of an 029 Farm Boss as much, and lean toward the Stihl MS250. I had a Poulan for a couple of years and it worked pretty darn good. Leaked bar oil like crazy and finally just wore out to where it would run ‘some’, so I gave it away.
The wife loves her battery powered Stihl (12” bar). If you remember the old line about having a hammer and now everything looks like a nail. Well, there a lot of limbs she has her eye on now. I think the trees are getting nervous. We ride around on the Kubota and she’s pointing out this limb and that one. I’m having to verbally defend trees and limbs. A woman and her chainsaw...who’d a thunk it?

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Stihl 362, if you want to buy one that will stand up to hard use, and last you over 20 years. You'll find them on fire engines, fire trucks, and on my ranch. Works as hard as you need, high power, reliable.
If those aren't the things you need, I got nuthin. Farm Boss is alright...

My Poulan is 21 years old, still doing what I need it to do. I have burned up three cutting mesquite. Let’s just say Poulan the last 10 years isn’t what it once was If you’re burning up saws from cutting Mesquites, you’re using the wrong chains or they are dull Nope, one only made it though more then 3 cords. Walmart exchanged it though. Haven’t had any issue with Stihl or echo. The little echo has a hard life too. Speaking of chains Stihl makes better chains then echo though. Sharping chains isnt rocket science

Through my years from about age 16 through 73 I have used them all except Echo. By far the most reliable by far has been Stihl.

I have an Echo and really like it so far. I've only had it about a year so I haven't used it long enough to be of much value in this conversation, but they got some of the consistently best reviews of all of the brands, and at the time I had an authorized Echo warranty repair center about two minutes from my house (they went out of business two months after I bought it). Mine doesn't have a primer bulb and I've noticed is it takes 2-3 more pulls to start when it's cold than my old Homelite did. I assume any of them without the primer bulb would be the same and it starts with one pull once it's been started the first time. I'm not sure about all of the brands, but I think you couldn't go wrong with Echo, Stihl, or Husqvarna.

One running correctly, 1 pull on full choke, 1 pull on half choke, and it is running. The big boys have a decompression valve. It can be stared stated without pushing it, but it is much easier and you get a faster engine spin after opening the decompression valve.

Although our logging is mechanized, Stihls are what is on the job. I had a 44 that was a bad boy but got stolen. Replaced with MS311 that is a work horse.

This one is older than I am. I resurrected it out of my grandpas garage. It was always a good saw for us. Replaced the bar and fuel lines and the oil feed line and it cut like an sob for years. The carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced now, but I cant find parts for it. Currently have and use a newer 14 inch poulan that was left at the ranch and the owner said he didn't want it back lol. I rebuilt the fuel system and it is serviceable... but its not 1/2 the saw the older poulan was.
It's hell eatin em live
