Hinch allegedly destroyed the monitor being used to steal signs twice, but never disciplined or otherwise tried to stop it. Monitors/TVs can be bought for a few hundred bucks, so while maybe not on board with it, he didn’t do much to stop it either. But he was aware of it. Understandable that he would be punished.

Cora is screwed, though. He was behind it in two places. It will be interesting to see how harshly he is punished. I’m predicting banned for life.

Still, interesting to me is that the league found it to be player-driven, but no players are being punished. And I can’t wait to see how the sanctimonious baseball writers of America treat players when voting for the hall of fame.

The HOF is a JOKE as long as the guy with the most hits ever isn't in it...screw the HOF and screw the guys that don't vote him in. It's disgraceful!

I bet a lot of teams would be willing to pay $5million and give up a couple draft picks to win a World Series. Either strip the WS title from them, or figure out exactly what the financial benefit was to the team and players and fine them that amount, which would be a TON more than $5mil. Also make them not eligible for the playoffs for 5 years.

You do realize that “signs” aren’t even in the rule book. It’s a convenience for the catcher. But don’t worry, 30 days from now this will be a big SO WHAT.
