I’ve been told that they breed large ones and release them to produce better genetics. Don’t think they’re hunting behind hf. Still not an easy hunt

Fair warning to the ones thinking about Argentina as I hunted there last year and have trophies to be shipped.
Government raided trophy exporters offices because of illegal dealings of some outfitters
No trophies can be exported for the seeable future before they can sort it out.

This must be HF.

Nope, it was low fence.

Like most places, they have a high fence pasture but the only thing it really contains are antlered male red deer, the hinds can come and go in a lot of places ( I personally witnessed it ) along with the fallow, axis and blackbuck.

They did tell me in 2021 after the government continued with the travel ban that they opened the gates on the high fence and let the animals roam in and out. But you’re talking about a 4K acre high fence area on a 33k acre ranch.
They also had almost no hunting to speak of for 2 1/2 years aside from ranch managers shooting culls

Where did you hunt? The pategonia area has much smaller red stags. West towards the Chilean border they have some better ones.

I hunted in La Pampa

Why were your trophies not shipped out? I hunted there in March of last year and they got all our stuff back to us within about 6 months. My stag is already mounted and up on the wall

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
