Our number of does and 1-3 year old bucks have been great, the only class of deer that are down is the 4-5 year old bucks. We generally see a few in December but haven’t so far. I was only able to hunt this morning and had to go out of town, be back at it next weekend. For some reason December 26th has been a good day for me.

Ours numbers are okay, but we need a good long hard freeze so they have to move to find food sources.

Yes, but I'm hunting a smaller tract without the aide of food plots or feeders and my on-stand hours are about half of what they've been in the past.

Back in 83 & prior Smith county twas buck only.. Several years tried ta get doe permit... confused2 told not enough deer... scratch so concentrated on the other wild game (hogs)... Then WMA opened up... Took bow in hand & took a stand, archery deer & hogs , & the 3 months hog any legal means hunts... Pudding food on D grill & on D freezer... It finaly went ta 4 deer county, bang could have legally take 4 deer every year, yet kept hunting WMA...
Archery deer & hogs...
Hunters & land owners complain about hog problems... Tis all about the big buck$, never had problems hunten hogs, WMA the work twas getten em out, back pack worked best for me... No gutting back straps, quarters, buzzards gotta eat too. rofl Not an executive hunt though...
nidea Gotta think out side the box... Lease twas on, no one twas seeing bucks, buck only with 2 day doe hunt. .
As pappy say's deer2 do learn ta pattern hunters, they know were box stands are, & the feeders, food plots...
Eat the brow's & acorns day & hit feeders & food plots at night under cover...
That same lease, did old school hunt, & last two days seen two differant bucks...
Ya'll must be hunten HF, keep hearing how tough it is ta hunt... would love ta try, just not gonna pay the prices...
LF Free roaming WMA's have seen plenty of deer rivaling ones posted on HF...
Ya'll got plenty hogs, keep after em...
Keep your head held high & your powder dry...

edit : google Smith county for second opinion... Dont take my opinion
rofl You know that thar old saying: editor's note: mine stinks, tis eaten deer chilie with beans..

Our browse and grass is higher than ever so they move less. Acorns galore. And go to feeders less. I drive less with more restaurants around now...

Our doe numbers are down a lot. I got a email from our MLDP program that said, shoot all your does that you can. Shoot your neighbors too. Except we have next to no does.

Way too many acorns on us. We’re seeing very little to no movement at all. With 2 big creeks on the place they can eat, bed, and drink within yards of each other. No need to move at all.
