He is a beauty. With the trash I think he will gross in the 150’s. From those angles I can not get a solid read on his age other than he is at least 4 so I defer to you on age. Congrats on putting your son on his first buck!

5.5 min probably 6.5. good sold buck. I don’t know your ranch but betting that’s good but not top end. Its not even thanksgiving much less Christmas. Just saw the last batch of pics. I agree with bobo on age.

Congrats on putting your son on his first buck! Thanks. He took a doe Saturday morning and couldn’t be more proud of himself. He has been with me for most my hunts since he was 2 years old. Last year he shot a doe with a buddy’s 300 blackout, had a good hit, but we never recovered her. It was awful. This year his grandfather passed down his deceased grandmother’s .243 and he took his first deer with it, dropping her with a perfect shot. It was an awesome moment and meant a lot to our family that he’s hunting with his grandmother’s rifle. As an added bonus, he shot a jake Sunday morning, again placing his shot perfectly at the base of the neck.

[quote=Pintail711]Blows me away that people will pass on big deer like that, post a pic on here and ask what our thoughts are. Let me me put the ball back in your court; why didn’t you shoot him then?
Wasn’t trying to offend you, amigo. Those pics were taken by a guest last night. We were having a tough time nailing down his age and score based on those two pics. I hunted him this morning and got some video of him at about 45 yards. Beautiful animal and I think he could be a 6 year old.
Our real focus was putting three 8 year old boys on their first deer, and we went 3 for 3. One of them was my son. It was an awesome day.
You didn’t offend me, but you’re asking for thoughts. 99% of the people on here would shoot it and if they say they wouldn’t they are not being truthful... the other 1% would prolly miss.

The consensus seems to be 6.5, scoring somewhere in the 150's. I came up with 152, but I tried to be very conservative. He could easily scare 160 if his frame is bigger than I'm guessing. We have someone hunting for him this weekend, so hopefully he's still around. I'll let y'all know...
