I don't know if I should contie with getting a blind for try kayak or try getting lay down bling and just use my kayak for getting to spots. I know I am asking a lot but I have never hunted for ducks and trying to buy everything one time and not how keep spending money later on. Just get a layout and some camo netting and try to pull the boat as far up onto the bank as possible, or park the boat down the bank a ways away from where you hunt. I don’t remember the weight capacity of 106 but I would take that into consideration when deciding between a full boat blind or a layout. Especially when you’re talking about all the clothes you’ll be wearing, waders, gun, blind bag, ammo and decoys. I have a layout that folds up like a lawn chair and doesn’t weigh more than 10 pounds probably. And I imagine the layout will be cheaper than a full boat blind, but I could be wrong. Weight shouldn't be an issue as I dont weight that much but Ill make sure to check before I buy anything. Yes a laydown is cheaper and maybe be the best way to start out for me. Thanks for all the feed back every. Think I may be leaning more to a laydown.

I'm still trying to figure out a comfortable, safe, and efficient way to transport a reasonable number of duck decoys in a 10' kayak. In a beaver sled or something similar. Heck of a lot easier to pull that behind you with the decoys in it vs trying to just drag the decoys.

Well, I used the Ambush Kayak blind yesterday as a layout and now I have an honest review.
My fears came true with the doors. They are just entirely too floppy. They won't stay in place while you're trying to stay concealed and the worst part is that they hang in the water and end up collecting water inside of the material lining. Also, I was extremely uncomfortable while trying to laydown. That is more against the kayak seat than the blind itself. But, most layout blinds have a frame or headrest of some sort. With this one, I was having to support my own head weight the whole time which did a number on my neck.
I still like the product as I won't really be using it as a layout 90% of the time anyways, I mostly bought it as a cover for the kayak so that I can blend it into the cattails or reeds where I'm hunting.
This hunt yesterday was in an open area that really dictated I use it as a layout. Long story short, It makes an excellent camo cover for the kayak. Albeit a rather expensive one.

We usually try to find hides that allow us to set up. I don't like laying down in my kayak either. The water on the doors doesn't seem to bother me. My preference is to use a mud seat when I can and store all my junk under the cover on the kayak or the sled.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Never duck hunted before so I think I need scout a lot and see what I can use.
