Wife and I are headed to Vegas the weekend before Christmas. Both never been.
Any recommendations for places that are a "must see/do" kind of deal? Or places to eat?
We'll be getting in Friday evening and flying out Monday..so not really a lot of time.
Staying at Treasure Island - looks like it has mixed reviews, but it was free so I'm not going to complain. Not a huge gambler, but we'll probably play a little.

Yeah when you get there you'll understand why it was free.
The lunch buffet at the Bilagio was pretty damn good.

The lunch buffet at the Bilagio was pretty damn good. Is it that bad? We used our rewards points on one of my wife's travel credit cards...may cancel and spend a little money to stay elsewhere if it's really that bad

Eiffel Tower restaurant. Ask for a table by the window. Be sure to schedule around the time the Bellagio fountains begin.

Everyone should see it once.
I burned out on it years ago. Talk about same-old same-old: even with more new stuff being built every day, it’s all just more glitter, fake glam, cheese masquerading as class, and lights, lights, lights.
Your wife will like The Forum Shops at Caesar’s.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

Hoover dam was cool enjoyed it more than I expected, but personally I would not rent a car and drive yourself. There are many tour options that cost little more than renting a car and gas. We took one and really enjoyed it, the guide also stopped off at a park on the way and we got to see some semi domestic big horns. And stay away from down town in the evening or night if you don't want to see things that.... you don't want to see.

Mickey is talking about renting an exotic car not a Ford Fusion, otherwise I agree with your statement.

If you don’t like all the bs from the strip and downtown, go to the redrock and sit at the sports book all day Saturday and Sunday.

Last summer we rented a Bentley convertible and hit Hoover Dam/ Bridge, Mount Charleston, and cruised the strip at night. It was 1/4 of the price of the exotic car rental places.....

I’m in Vegas every 6 weeks or so for work.
Mon A Mi Gabi for breakfast is a must for every trip for me. It’s located in the Paris.
Most trips, I stay out in Henderson at Green Valley Ranch. If staying on the strip, we like The Cosmopolitan.

Wife and I went 2 weeks ago. We stay off strip at the Gold Coast. This was my last free flight with points from SW. We used to do twice a year. It has changed a lot. It used to be a cheap place to go and see shows, eat and have a good time. Not any more. It is crowded, expensive and nothing like it used to be. But since you have never been it may be what you really like. Me and the Wife. That was our last trip. Only Coushatta from now on.

I hate they way the rope off the walkways on the strip and you have to walk thru all the casinos, you can't walk the strip much anymore I missed the days when you could eat a Prime Rib Dinner and see a show for less than $10

If it cold it bitter cold once the sun sets, I was there for Christmas couple of years ago, it was around 40 degrees at night and it was bitter cold when the sun went down.

I love Vegas and I don’t gamble.
I absolutely love Freemont Street and try and spend most of my time there. I’m a night owl, so Vegas keeps me entertained late into the morning.

We recently went for the 5th or so time....have stayed at several different places, but I like the Palazzo, Venetian, and the Wynn. All depends on the crowd you want. Different hotels have vastly different demographics.
Have eaten at a bunch of cool places, but Mr. Chow was perhaps the best meal I've had in my life. Palazzo has two cool sports bars. Most any of the newer hotels will have nice restaurants. Several hotels like Ceasar's and Wynn have good shopping.
Like mentioned above, don't take cabs, Uber only.
