Hammer
I am a big guy getting smaller each year, and I hear ya on the issues. Even 60lbs smaller I still sweat like an SOB when walking. Couple things that helped me.
Campfire smoke was one of the biggest and really helps a lot. Go out earlier than needed. I try to pick a spot about 50 yard from the stand and I stop there for about 20 minutes to cool down. When we hunt early in season, I take a spare rag, an when I stop, I wipe off all the sweat I can and put the rag in a ziplock bag. I keep my pack and last layer outside and at the deer lease during the season (I put them in a clear trash bag under the porch when not in use) and avoid futzing with them until necessary to minimize scents of all kinds. Try to have two paths to each of your hunting locations, based on wind, and do everything you can to keep them away from the known game trails or paths. If need be, but new paths ahead of season.

Deer don’t exactly smell like they just got outta the shower.

Ok, couple of things: 1. Smoke from a. Fire acts as a good cover smell. Deer smell fire a lot and they don’t associate it with people. So feel free to douse yourself with smoke.
2. Electric bike, this can make the effort to get to and from the stand much easier. Reduce sweat, increase speed, make human sounds not sound human, and don’t spread human scent the whole way. Consider investing in an electric bike.
3. Regular bike. If you can’t afford an electric bike, then use a regular bike. Again, gets you there faster with less effort. Les scent, less noise to alert deer to human activity. Consider this.
4. Lose weight. As a physician, there is not reason anyone should weigh 300# unless they play in the nfl. Since you are hunting I am assuming that isn’t the case, so lose weight. It isn’t an easy process, but work in the off season will make huge dividends for next season.

I’ll say this buddy, I’m 6’2” 260 and am 31. I have been hunting my entire life and i have never had a deer bust me because of scent. Deer bust you because they saw you moving and I have killed some big deer too. Do I use scent away spray? Yes I do. I don’t go to the extremes that others do. If deer were that afraid of human scent, you’d never see one. There’s been more big deer killed while smoking cigarettes and drinking beer then you could imagine.. don’t beat yourself up, just sit still.

I watch Catman Videos on YouTube. He hunts in Tennessee and walks into his tree stand, stinky and sweaty. His answer is "Hunt the Wind".
coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

I’ve never used a cover scent for deer hunting. When I was a kid I asked my grandfather if we walked into the wind so the deer wouldn’t smell us. He said yea and you smell pretty damn loud. We didn’t hunt in stands.
When I was varmint hunting all the time I found a rag soaked in diesel worked the best when calling them to the truck at night. I don’t see why this wouldn’t work for deer too.

Hello Everybody, just an update for everyone that cares. I tried walking in with just my pants and t shirt. This has made a tremendous difference. I start off very cold but 30 yards into the walk life is great and I'm not sweating like a sweat hog! Thanks for all of the advice everybody! The walk into my tree has gotten easier I must say. I love being out in these deer woods!
