I made it to the lease for the first hunt of the year this weekend and was able to get it done on this nice 8pt buck. I hunted Saturday morning with very little activity. I saw just one small buck and a few turkeys. I decided to hunt a different feeder that evening and in the tripod around 5pm. To my surprise I had a good buck show up around 5:20 and before my feeders were going to go off at 6. I didn't have any pics of this guy on camera and was surprised when he showed up. At first I thought it was a different buck I was hoping to see from last season but I quickly realized it wasn't him once I saw how long his brow tines were. Double lunged him and he ran about 100 yards and fell just out of sight along the brush line. Excited banana to have my buck on the ground but sad frown at the same time to have ended my season so early.
