Not me, for $40 it's worth it to not spend 2 hours doing it. Plus, it's really hot outside in the summer, Lol.

Had to yell at my neighbor the other day for cutting 10ft on my side. He cuts the grass too short, and it's too hot right now that it gets sunburned. Hell I dont pay $300 water bills, so that joe blow can just kill my grass. Okay, rant is over.

I've always mowed my own yard. I think my wife mowed it once when we were first married.
I enjoy yard work and I'm picky about how it's done and how it looks.

I'm only running them once a week. Had a few October rains. My grass looks great. I set in my sunroom with my martini every night thinking that I am the luckiest man in the world. Sometimes I say it out loud.

There are several neighbors in my subdivision who have teenage boys and still hire it out. I think the going rate here is $100. One couple built a little house behind their house for her father in law. He mows their yard.

I mow ours and the in-laws next door. Total of about 2 1/2 acres. Ours isn't bad but my FIL contracted gopher syndrome or something a few years ago and has dug holes and planted little trees all over the place. Having to maneuver through all the sucker rod stakes and tomato cages about doubles the time it should take for his. Plus, have to trim around all of them after mowing. My MIL is 81 and our rural mail carrier squealed on her to me the other day. She was on the tin roof trimming pecan tree branches. We couldn't talk her down so I got on the roof and told her to PLEASE get down, you're making me nervous. I was still on a cane from a recent broken hip surgery but there wasn't any way I could leave her up there. She's a hard headed ol' gal.

But for some reason he cuts 10ft on my side. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/10/full-32382-202774-20191003_110941.jpg)

I do mine and takes about an hour and 20 mintues from the time I walk out the back door to the shed, mow, weed eat, blow, and put everything back in the shed. The wife loves to mow, but tends to leave mohawks all over the yard, so until we're out in the sticks somewhere and have a need for a riding mower, I do it all.

Had a drive cable snap on my Honda. The neighbor had their crew doing theirs, so I asked if he would do mine. (My yard is real small.... drive way up front and pool in back, so not much at all.). He charges me $25 to mow, edge, and weed eat/blow and they are done in 15 min. That was 2 years ago and has been going great ever since.

99% of the time I mow and trim myself ... occasionally when we are having company come and I don't have the time, my wife calls a guy that does it for a decent price. Takes me about 1.5-2 hours to mow the main yard and another 2 hours for all the trimming/edging.
