I paid $6.25/50# at McCoy's in Beeville on Saturday. Corn was not as clean as it has been in the past this time. It has been that price for a little over a year now.

The cheapest I have found around Beaumont is Sutherland's Building Materials, they have 50 lb bags for $6.99 or $0.14 per lb. Senior citizens get 10% off on Tuesdays (so i was told) which would make it $6.21 or $0.12 per lb.

The second best price I have found is Wal-Mart at $5.97 for a 40 lb bag which works out to $0.15 per lb or $7.50 for 50lbs.

Anyone checked Buc-ee's in Baytown the last few days?

Is Bucees corn usually clean and good?? Ive always been on a large lease and we buy it locally out there by the pallet so ive just never paid much attention to Bucees or others. Ive gotten on a second lease now and its just me(looking for a second guy) so I may just plan on grabbing some at Bucees since its a small amount and they seem to be consistently cheaper. Do their prices differ by location and do they fluctuate in price often?
Also for Bobo or anyone that knows-- Bobo said wait till late oct and we may see corn in the $4's--I know there is always talk about how production and other factors cause price to fluctuate, but is there much solid rumor on that?

Current harvest is underway(8-12% harvested) further along we get more harvest will be in. Up until sept you where basically buying what was left from last year.

Current corn futures are 390. So as a farmer you either have contracted out your corn, will sell across the board or store(bag/elevator) it and wait until prices go up and then sale.

More or less once you get into sept corn estimation are becoming more finite everyday

At this point it would take a two state nature disaster that layes over a heavy percentage of the corn over for price to go up.

All your deer corn suppliers are buying via contracted allotments. It’s been in 3’s almost all sept
