It's one of our new Quell series that will be available very soon when the marketing dept releases them, they are already in stock.

Bill,

Is the HAM'R HOT CORE that just popped up on your website the new Wilson specific Speer bullet you mentioned a while back? I think you said it was more of a round nose bullet. Can you please tell me what the BC is for that round?

Thanks!

Yes this is the HAM'R specific bullet and the BC should be about the same as the flat nose version of .248, maybe slightly better.

Bill, are you taking high shoulder shots or neck shots? A few look like neck, behind the ear, and shoulder areas. So far your 130gr ProHunters are working well for us.

Taking my son and his buddy tomorrow to shoot a few Blackbuck with it. Will post pics once animlas are on the ground.

My perfect shot is with the hog quartering to me and shoot for the center of the neck. This gives me a DRT if I sever the spine and a guaranteed kill if not because I get lungs. My second option is broadside and center of the neck for a spine shot. Third option is behind the ear. However if I catch one out in the open ranch/crop land I often shoot center of the shoulder just to see how far they run with a double lung shot, sometimes they run quite a long way. I had a 120# sow run over 100yds one day with a dead center broadside shoulder shot with a .308 shooting a 165gr Hornady SST !!!!! Hogs are a lot tougher and smarter than most people give them credit for.

Hey Bill,
Which of the 150gr HAM’R bullets is bonded? I only see 3 150s on your website - the SST, HC, and the HSM FN.

BTW, I just got my Ultralight Hunter a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! Thanks for the new round (300 HAM’R) and a great rifle.

Mike

I've been shooting prototype samples, the production run isn't complete yet. We hope to have the bullets and ammo available sometime in Oct.. This load will replace the 150gr Speer FNHC load that we're discontinuing and be available in both brass and nickel cases for suppressor use.

Excellent! I’d guess that would be a very good load for black bear.
Thanks.

It will be our best load for the bigger/tougher game.

My son and his buddy took both these blackbuck with 300 Hamr 130gr ProHunters. Both around 100yd shots and both complete pass throughs. One was a high shoulder shot DRT and the other was through both shoulders and buck ran 15yds. Measured 19 1/2 and 23 1/2! Boys were excited!!!!

Bill, I really prefer a cannelure for semi-auto use in an AR which makes the HC the perfect load. I don't suppose you can get those 150 grain gold dots with a cannelure?? Also, will you have a load with powder optimized for SBR use? I now own two 8-inch and one 11.3-inch HAM'R uppers in addition to the 16.3" rifle.

The new 150gr bonded Speer is working on for us will have a properly located cannelure for crimping at at 2.255" OAL. Actually I hadn't thought about seeing if we could get more velocity out of the shorter bbls, guess I need to do some testing there...... Depending on the load we use CFEBLK (125-150gr loads) or Shooters World SOCOM powder (95-110gr loads), I'll try the faster SOCOM with the heavier bullets in the short bbls and see what we get.

BTY We've never had an issue with bullet push back on any of the loads without a cannelure, since we run a real tight (.305/.308) case neck to bullet fit.

From one of our happy 300 HAM'R customers

Jagger ( the boy who harvested the deer) is in the middle Jason his father is on the right and Ryan (me) is on the left. the live weight of the buck was 222lbs. Jagger made a perfect quartering to shot. bullet entered in front of his left shoulder, exited behind right shoulder and jellied the lungs. ran about 75 yards. sorry for the windy explanation but I get the impression Bill is a technical guy and might enjoy the info.
once again love the cartridge, I cant picture a more perfect round for kids to get started with. chambered in a rifle they think is cool, minimal recoil and terminal performance that makes the adult hunting with them less nervous after the shot is taken. absolutely perfect. thank you.

I’m not sold yet but I’ve never considered an AR for anything until this thread. Still following.

Just put the finishing touches on my 11.3" HAM'R pistol build.

Bill, I bought the extra power spring off your website but was curious what weight buffer you run in the 11.3" pistols. Heading out to the range with an H1 installed but it seems going to H2 doesn't make much difference in felt recoil or ejection. The spent cases for 125TNT, 130HC, and150 SST eject consistently at approx. 4:30 into a tiny pile.

Bill, when you say standard I just want to clarify you mean carbine and not an H?

Yes carbine buffers with the standard weights, we tune our ejection with port size and don't like to rely on heavier buffers for function
