WAG - 175, but regardless of his final score, he is a fantastic looking buck. If presented with a shot, I would hope he is very patient, cuz it would take a lot of time for the red tinge to leave my eyes, and my heartbeat to settle, before I would be ready to pull the trigger.

I shot a similar framed 10 point last year with long brows that scored 167. That deer is wider, taller and much better G4’s. He’s north of 180.awesome deer.

I’m looking at deer compared to legs on feeder. I think this buck is smaller body and has a nice rack! I’m guessing in upper 150’s. Also you have to ask who’s scoring your deer? I’ve seen 130s that someone says it’s 150s. I know to kill a 160 or bigger the buck will need lots of mass and yours is still in velvet. I’d have to see recent photo out of velvet. I killed one similar two hrs ago and when dead it was only 16 inches wide and had a real squaty body and small ears. In saying this , there’s no way I’d pass that deer even if he was 3 yrs old

I’m guessing 155 -low 160. Has good mass so I could be wrong You are low on your score. He has over 47" of mass. Mass and a larger body hides tine and beam length. Photo angles are deceiving when judging deer. I look more at ear length and length from corner of eye to tip of nose to use as a gauge.

He scored a bit more than your guess the year before in 2007 in this pic with just over 42" of mass. We found his sheds from 2007 in the photo about 10 days before he was killed in November 2008 the next season.

Yes and it is a native Texas deer from South Texas genetics that were TTT and stocked on the ranch in 1997 or 98.

Then who cares what it scored? I’m more interested in how much was it? If cheap enough I may take a pet

We found his sheds from 2007 in the photo about 10 days before he was killed in November 2008 the next season. I changed my guess 3 times. What was it? I scored him at 188+(I am a TBGA scorer) on a very quick score that night he was killed and one large deer contest had him a 190 5/8 or 7/8 gross the next day. He had 26"+ MB's, just under 17" inside spread and 47 3/8 or 5/8" of mass. He was killed about a month before the rut started in mid-Nov and field dressed around 190 or 195 lbs. Even with his found sheds from the year before I missed his score on my guesses from those photos that day. We lucked out finding both of them under a tree when shredding roads/senderos/open areas that year in early November. Picture angles and the way the deer is standing or facing the camera makes deer hard to judge from a photograph. Many like to use a video, I prefer as many still or TC pics from different angles to judge a buck from. Body size hides a lot when field judging bucks and mass really can fool people when guessing scores.
