The oil economy in Texas has resulted in one of our members being unable renew his 2 spots.

We have 2 openings available on our lease. We hunt approximately 9000 acres and there are 10 guns total. Most of the remaining members on the lease are THF members as well.

If you are looking for a beautiful recreational ranch giving year round access, family and guest privileges it doesn't get any better than the Pitchfork.

Timing could not be better as we have an outstanding mature age class of both whitetail and mule deer that has received plentiful rains over the last two seasons. We had many 4-5 year old WT bucks and 6-8 year old MD that were not harvested last season.

The terrain is some of the most beautiful country you'll set foot on. I've posted many pics of it that you can check out viewing my past posts.

We have year round access and guest privileges. We have harvest Mule Deer in the 170's and white tail bucks in the 150-160's. We currently have an abundant Quail population to hunt. Plenty of hogs and varmits, great dove hunting as well.

You are allowed one trophy buck and approved cull bucks. Does, dove, quail, hogs and varmits.

Our ranch access is about 10 miles southeast of Spur Texas in southern Dickens county.

I have hunted on this place for 8 years and don't plan on leaving unless our lease is no longer renewed. We have a great campsite with electricity and trailer hook ups.

We are fortunate that we hunt under the MLD program so our gun season starts in the first weekend in November and runs until the end of February for bucks and does. We do not supplemental feed and we hunt wild native Texas deer. You are welcome to supplemental feed if you want. We do feed corn and soybeans but have not fed protein.

The terrain is beautiful and very undulating. We have a fork of the Brazos river that runs through the middle of our acreage. Please pm me if your seriously interested. Cost is $4500 a year.

Have a friend who owns land to the west of it. I have seen the exterior only hunting coyotes and it was a beautiful place to me. I also saw some huge deer there early one AM by their fence. Would love to be on this lease but have other commitments I cannot afford it also.

Wish this had come available just a little earlier. I committed to a 1-year trial of a place north of Sanderson. Looks like a fantastic place. Good hunting Marc.

We hunt the pasture north of these guys. This is the best lease pasture on the ranch. Anybody who is thinking about it needs to jump on this place. Here is a pair we took on the pasture to the north.

Besides the great hunting, it is just a flat out gorgeous chunk of Texas that is a lot of fun to explore

I think both spots are spoken for. He is supposed to be showing the place this weekend to prospective members.

This lease has been filled. IF your still interested hunting the Pitchfork PM justin7-11. He has spot available on the J2, the pasture north of us. Great hunting there as well.

Looking to make contact with anyone on the J2 pasture or near it, my father in law and is brother have a couple spots on the pasture and was wanting introduce ourselves and say hi. They leased the stovall pasture for the last 3-4 years and it has not been good. So they now lease a smaller pasture to the west, cant remember the name of it. This is the second year they have been on the j2, last year they had 2 spots but didnt hunt much bc they didnt want to disturb other hunters and didnt know where everyone was located. I think they picked up atleast 1 more spot this year.

Hi Todd!

I hunt T41 pasture. We border the Devils Playground which borders Dark Canyon and the J2. It's been tough hunting for mature bucks in all the pastures the last couple years because of the drought and fires we had a few years ago. This year we should start seeing some 6+ age bucks again and next year should be back to normal for all age classes God willing. The deer we have on camera are in great condition. Pray for rain as we are highly susceptible to fire right now. Look forward to meeting you at the annual meeting in a few weeks.

Goodness gracious that’s a wonderful place. I missed out last year by a couple of months. I should have just eaten my other lease payment and got on the Pitchfork.
