I have a trail cam photo of a lion on my place in Montague county. Have not been on here in forever and there’s a new method of loading photos. If one of you all will PM me I will text a photo to load for me

I don’t think that is a lion. It looks like a mange coyote.

Here is a lion.

Coyote for sure. Not even mangy....just in it's summer coat.

That's not to say the Coyote doesn't 'identify' as a Mountain Lion.....since that seems to be possible these days.

Are y'all really assuming it's genus! Maybe it's really a Mountain Lion that is really good at identifying as a Coyote! Just saying!!!

Update: I do value the expert opinions you all have! 99% of the time it’s unanimous, similar to this thread. BUT, my lease partner asked me to run out and check his camera since I am local. The added excitement of a possible cat was just too much to wait I guess. I drove out this evening to check his camera, and about 300yds from where his stand and camera are, a very large, long tailed cat ran across the road in front of my pickup!! I am a skeptic just as you all are, and have never claimed I have seen one until now!! Mind you, this is a area of our county where there have been numerous lion sightings! I really hope we can get a better photo, or at best get a shot at this big cat!!

I was really hoping this was a joke. Maybe it is, and your just taking it as far as possible. However, I think you really are that delusional. Hope I’m wrong.
