Starkist has these flavored single portion packets that I've been eating with various things added. The hard part is not eating too many tortilla chips, crackers, etc. with it.
Tonight I put a packet of the Honey BBQ flavored tuna on a plate, piled some shredded cheddar on, (about 1/4 cup or so), and a PILE of Best Maid sweet jalapeno pepper slices on top. Tossed it some to mix it. That was real good!! The cheat was probably a dozen or more tortilla chips. All in all a filling, low cal, high protein supper.
There a lot of ways of making those flavored tuna packets a healthy low cal meal.

I use the plain and add chopped onion, celery, sweet pickle relish and miracle whip.
It is a good lunch.

That is my lunch pretty much everyday. My team calls one of my desk drawers "the Pantry".

Eat it all the time. Great on top of soybean spaghetti (9 net carbs, 24 g protein) or a pouch of microwave rice.

Headed back to Central America on Monday & these are my go-to $1 protein lunch when we’re out in the mountains.. The yellowfin are excellent & not much more expensive..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

Guess I’ll be grabbing a few of these in the low sodium version since I’ve been put on a low salt diet

It is a good lunch. There is also salmon in pouches. I use them the same way. Higher content of what we're told is the good fat. Either way quick, easy and tasty.

I love tuna, but those pouches have something smashed up in them that doesn’t look good to me.

Well I got back on the tuna fish last week, had tuna & jalapenos all week for breakfast instead of tacos. Stocked up on healthy snacks at HEB yesterday. I checked out the new different flavors of tuna packets too, and stocked up on them. I also have a pantry at work now lol. Cutting out beer during the week is going to be the hardest part, last night was the first night in a long time that I didn’t drink a beer. 1’st day back in the gym is today, here we go.

There a lot of ways of making those flavored tuna packets a healthy low cal meal. I like to keep my two hunting leases stocked with food and supplies so I can just grab a gun, jump in the truck and go to the lease spur of the moment without having to stop for stuff or having to go to town for anything. What I like about those tuna packets is the long expiration dates. A big stack of them is always on my list when restocking the campers. Getting a healthy meal out of them is a bonus.

I found sardines from Portugal. Really good, much firmer with more flavor than the rest. Bought them on Amazon. LOVE them with yellow mustard, no crackers though

Since reading this thread it stuck with me and I started eating a can of tuna with some sweet jalapenos and some wheat thins for lunch daily. Before I would eat whatever(leftovers, microwave burrito, etc)
ITs helped me have more energy as usually after eating lunch Id be lethargic. This has lead me to actually USE the recumbent bike we have at hom. Started once a day for 10 minute, then twice a day for 10 minutes, now Im at 12 min twice a day with a couple sessions with a 5lbs handweight thrown in. In two weeks IVe gone from 246 to 236. I haven't been in the 230's in many years. A dress shirt I wore two months ago which was training at the buttons is now loose. The change has actually given me the drive to keep it up. Id like to get down to about 210. Im 6'1" with a large frame and that was about my ideal weight the last time I was there which was 2005 my last year in the Army. I had been as high as 265 a few years ago but have been around 245 for three years now.
It all started with reading about yall eating tuna with peppers and wheat thins, lol. The success has been its own motivator and is helping me change all my eating habits. I still have days of eating things I shouldn't but I just accept that and eat better whenever I can.

Today I mixed a Ranch Tuna packet with a mashed up boiled egg with mustard and a little ketchup. Not counting a few saltine crackers I figure that was a little over 150 calories, mostly protein, and was quite filling.

Quick update, I hit 210.0 lbs this morning. My initial goal weight. Still have some to lose so not stopping here.

TONS of salt in those things. When I eat albacore I rinse out the can for a minute then put it in a xtreme wellness tortilla with some pico. Pretty dang good.
