Thinking about making a 17 inch 6.5 creed...anyone got real life speed. I have seen some conflicting data...

Looks like 130s could be north of 2700 and 120 north of 2800. But I have also seen numbers 100-200 lower. Not sure if that’s just factory loads or is there that much difference in barrels

Thinking about loading some 130eldm

It’s 22. Debating cutting down to 17 and using 130ish grain Bullets. Have seen report of 120 going 2800fps

Powder selection will help dictate velocity. Using a burn rate a tad faster than the typical H-4350 might help bump the speeds up. But then, you will end up without a full case of powder, and that may or may not matter. Go experiment!

Chad's Speedmoor load with the 143 goes almost 2800 in my (slow) 24". Cutting it 7" should be in the 200fps range, but then going to the lighter bullet should pick that back up some. I wouldn't doubt 2700 with a 130, it seems pretty achievable.

Crap, I just remembered!

Many moons ago, I shot a 24" .260 Rem with 130 gr VLDs. On once fires brass they were coming out at 2950 fps. So, if we take 25 fps per inch times 7" we lose 175 fps equaling 2775 fps MV.

I got some varget and I think that’s a tad faster. I also have some of the enduron powder but can’t remember which

Looks like I am going to do it. 17+suppressor will work well...

I like the Varget option over the Enduron option.
