I shot a hog earlier in the night with my 300 HAMR. I grabbed my 450 Bushmaster and headed to another feeder. I sat there for about 2 hours with no luck. I drove back to camp and was walking into the RV when I looked at the feeder by camp and to my surprise there was a lone boar there. I took the shot from the deck and down he went. I guess I should have stayed in camp and waited for them to come to me.

If you're that close, use one of these and you can stay cozy until it's time to go play "The Reaper".

Driveway Alarm

Several of us on here use them.

They work great for sitting in a blind also.

CharlieCTx, that sensor claims to work 1/2 mile from the receiver. What has been your experience as to range and reliability? I have been using one from Harbor Freight I got for $10 and it works for the 70 yards from feeder to house but no further. I'd like to get one to put at my pond 200 yards away.

I get a good 100 yard reception on mine. I've clipped the "sound" wire on the unit and just have the flashing red light to tell me that something is moving close to the feeder. Works great.

I have used the "Ideal Security Wireless" with good results. It doesn't have the range from the motion detector to the base as some other systems. (about 50-60yds) I am in heavily wooded area around my blind and I get alerts in time to get the thermal equip ready. Isn't made to easily attach to a tree but bailing wire is my friend.

Some people have such a toxic and rancid personality that even death doesn't want them!

The farthest I have to monitor is 130-140 yds. My lease bud has used the same one for over 5 years. When the temps are cool I sleep in my blind and use the alarm to wake me up for party time. Wake up, get dressed, get a little something to drink, check out the scene and giddyup!
