I'm not calling you anything. Fortunately for me I don't need your help.

What I do know is that I've been killing big game animals for 47 years now, and never needed any of that BS to kill something, ever. I really, really like shooting the mil/mil setups, as I've said, but having killed a few hundred head of game, and seen that many more killed, I've never relied on mils or moa for any of them.

Held your nose and thanked me for my help more than once, after your false apology, that has proven to be false multiple times.

So there's that.

Not sure what help you're thinking of, but it sure wasn't needed to kill something. I've been killing deer longer than you've been alive most likely. It wasn't long ago you were "glassing' with your rangefinder.

Could go right back to that 8X Swaro monocular and still fill the freezer exclusively, never raising meat, or buying meat for a family of four all year, every year.

"Longer than", is irrelevant.

I feel like I started this....that was not my intention. My intention was to make two points 1 - jack with Fireman a little 2 - explain that there is no perfect answer...there is a perfect answer for every individual and the possibility exists those answers might conflict in the same environment.

I think regardless of Fireman's love of messing with me (as I do himh, he sees the second point.

Tim,

He brought me a 15-60X SFP, 1/8 MOA Vortex scope to use shooting a ladder test on an AR-10.

15-60X FAIL!
SFP, FAIL!
1/8 MOA, FAIL!
Vortex, FAIL!

In order to zero it in at 100, the scope has to go to 60X so the reticle subtends. And, being a P.O.S. Vortex, the image becomes dark as the inside of a football.

He has lost all credibility.

Thanks for everyone's input. Does anyone know of anybody running any specials on Nightforce at the moment?

Judd brought you the 15-60 Vortex? I think he buys those by the dozen. Great for benchrest shooting or maybe Pdogs.

MOA is for old men who can't bring themselves to change to an easier system, and Judd.

Why does Buzz's scope have a red condom on the top turret?

Brand new Night Force. That's how they roll.

I suspect more protection for the etching on the elevation turret, which is the most important control on the scope.

Or people who want a more precise measurement and have a better understanding of math. bolt

I believe that on that scope reticle substensions are correct at 40x not 60x

Thank you. I had nothing on the load development range to figure out the reticle. Best thing to do is get done with it, and give it back to its' rightful owner.

Don't worry about shooting it, I can do it. I figured you could save me some time and we'd prove if the accu wedge did anything.

You don't need to worry about the substentions at 300y shooting a ladder anyways. I sure didn't see this as such a big problem, sorry you had to mess with it.

One thing I can tell y'all is when tuning a rifle you cannot have to much scope. That scope is only on that rifle because I was trying to make it shoot and it was sitting there.

Jeeeeeezzzzzz, the drama is thick on this POS rifle wink

Just picking at you. They're probably getting launched tomorrow.

Might try and put up one piece of paper, and ladder the .308 and a .223 at the same time. Pretty easy to see the difference, on paper. wink

I have used scopes in both units and also specialized reticles matched to very specific ammo. To me, the reticle design is far more important than Mil or MOA - as long as the turrets match the reticle.

The MOAR is a very user friendly reticle and easy to use hunting with the floating center crosshair. Great scope Buzz. Please drop me a note if you decide to sell it.

I'm about to order my 4-32. A couple of things, Buzz.

First, WTF is going on here?

And second, what ring height are you using? I don't mean short, taller tallest. Or low, medium, high. I mean what is the height measurement. They look like .8-something. Thanks Buzzy Boo.
