I have medical reason for not flying. We drive every where, or do go.

My neighbor spends a couple of months in Florida each summer and winter. He drives. He had planned to leave Sunday morning. This morning his maid knocked on my door. She said that both vehicles were in the garage but he was not at home. I finally tracked him down at the hospital. Not sure if he will still make the two day drive. I wouldn't.

I had to drive to all of my national field trials because of my dogs and gear. I only spent the night on the road a few times. My limit was around 900 miles. What'd your limit?

Have they shut the Mexico and Canadian borders? Last I checked you could go further south than you might want to. You must have been thinking overseas.

Less than 6 hours and I知 driving. If we are going to be there for multiple weeks, I値l drive so we don稚 have to rent a car.

Longest drive without stopping to sleep; last year when I drove from the outer banks of NC to Houston. I hit the Texas border around midnight and couldn稚 see stopping to sleep for 5 or 6 hours when I would have been home in 2 and change. Normally, 15 to 16 hours is my max.

Back in the days (1991- 2008) I drove 35 national parks 3 to 4 times.
These were the best days of my life. Highly addictive.

There is no place I want to go that I can't drive to.

I did that coming home from a field trial in Denver one time. I left before daylight and got to Waco around 8:00 pm. I boogied on home.

Well Bill, my deciding factor would be this: do I have a super well known, solid as they come, down to earth, man of his word, possibly with goes by Lefty to pick me up and drop me off at the airport or not? If so, I fly every time!!! up

For starters, one could drive to Canada or Mexico. Both of those are international. Duh.

I値l take the truck. Two weeks ago I left Dallas at three pm Friday and it to the cabin in Colorado at 5am Saturday. Little over 950 miles. Then drove to Kansas about 500 miles or a little more then back to Dallas about 500 miles. My max is about 18 hours in the truck then I知 needing to stop for awhile.

I知 almost certain Myth Busters did a segment on flying vs. driving. If my memory serves me correctly, any flight less than 300 miles driving was faster than flying.

In a lot of cases that is probably correct. I live about 300 miles from San Antonio, it is a five hour drive. If I drove to DFW airport it would take me 1:45. Spend two hours getting parked, thru the line, and boarded. An hour plus for takeoff, in air and landing, another hour exiting airport and getting rental car puts me over the five hour drive, and it would be a lot more hassle. On the other hand, I could leave my house, make a five minute drive to my local airport, pre trip the Bonanza, and spend 1:38 in the air and then another 20 minutes on the ground in SA and there would be a three hour time savings. I love flying, I always try to take a plane.
