This question is for the die hard hog hunters. Has any of you used a quality regular hunting scope with someone with you locating the hogs with one of the high power, high intensity flashlights? How did it work? Good or a flop? Thanks

The only way to "locate" a hog with a flashlight of any color, is to shine it on him. If you know where they are specifically, there are several techniques like turn it on pointing up and slowly bring it down on them, don't turn it on pointing at them.

Green flashlight is better than nothing, but just barely. They aren't generally fond of sudden illumination with visible light. If you hunt over a feeder, put one of the many hog motion-detector feeder lights out, you can get a shot off with a regular scope. They get used to the feeder lights turning on.

The main problem without NV or Thermal will be the inability to easily get off a follow-up shot.

Call in and speak with Rich, Todd, or Tyler. Any one of us will walk you though exactly what your options are and shoot you straight on quality gear vs junk.

I have a Pulsar Trail XP 38 and XP 50 and love both of them. I started out with an ATN X sight and still have and use them, they have their purpose. I will agree that if you do go night vision upgrade the IR light, there are many great options out there. Night vision is limited to the IR light used. Thermal is a game changer, pricier but worth it. I have used ATN thermals before and they are good. I will also agree that ATN customer service was lacking in the past, but from my own experience it has greatly improved.
